An update on this - I got rid of the benz on Wednesday. I am really disappointed with the mercedes. It had constant service issues and living in Chicago I got flat tires and cracked wheels because of the potholes. Long story short in the past 2 months I've spent $4500 on the car. Oil changes are $450. So don't get a mercedes!!

Add to that how expensive they are and it's not worth it at all imo. So I traded the benz in for a Nissan Murano (for my wife) AND an Infinity FX35 (for me). Only cost about 10k extra and I got two cars instead of one!!

Ok that's what I wanted to hear - thank you!!

While it is mine and I drive it, the wife loves our Murano. It is OK for me, I get to work in it and back, but I miss my maxima. That car was money for the price. Now they jacked the price on that so I ended up with the murano when the lease was up last year.

It has treated me well thus far, knock on wood.

I really like the Murano. I actually bought it for myself but the wife loved it so much that I gave it to her. And that gave me an excuse to go buy another car I was actually just gonna get a black one for me I liked it so much, but then the salesman said the FX35s are about the same price as the Muranos. I drove it and loved it, it drives a lot like the Maxima.

Of course!! Poor thing is just sitting in the garage though due to all the crappy weather we've been having. I can't wait till Spring (ar atleast a day with no salt/ice)! The good thing is it's giving me a lot of time to actually work and also spend a lot of time in the theater.

I took a look at the code for the 16:9 version of the Aeon YAMJ and it's too much work to mess with to make it scope. Knowing me, it would take me two weeks to do it

However, I'm gonna tweak my current scope version of the skin trying to use some of the properties they add in to the 16:9 version. The first change I did was just lower the opacity of the background image so fanart shows like it's supposed to.

Before:

After:

The file to replace: skins > whateveryoucalledit > pictures > info_rightpaneltop2.png

Speaking of which I have to figure out that div info content error under director.

Anyway, very small change, but I'm gonna see if there are others I can implement. The box covers and such would be cool!

Would love the psd. Did the initial index screen fit your scope screen? I have been trying to tweak mine but still have an overflow where I can get either the top or bottom but not both. Any help? Thanks.

btw I have posted re upgrade of the Aeon scope.

Sure here it is.

You'll need the "Bladerunner" font, or you can choose a different one - there is a bunch! http://www.typenow.net/themed.htm

I'm gonna tinker around some more with it tonight and see.

I did edit some files in the 16:9 version and I was able to fit it onto a scope screen (with only one movie as my test), however it seems he's got each item on there basically pixel mapped out so I would have to also figure out the new maps for the box covers, menus etc. I'd also have to change the size of the box covers and such. When I saw all that I kind of said nevermind!

Btw anyone seen the new iPad, you know I gotta get one

I see that, I guess people don't like the big iphone aspect of it. I do wish it ran snow leopard for instance instead of the iphone like OS. I'll of course try it out first in a couple months when it's out but knowing me I'll probably get it, I like gadgets

You're gonna need bigger pockets on your shirts.

Thanks for the psd. I'll try it. I may get back to you to make one if I don't get it to work. I am not experienced with the software but wanted to try. If you get any success with the fit or make any improvements, please keep us updated. Thanks for any help.

Thanks Queen!!! I almost had to cancel my avs membership - I started considering the new Sim2 LED projector! Then I came back to reality and realized I love my current Sim2 and need to stop the madness.

Sorry for the delay, got bit by the flu bug But doing better now!

When I get the QNAP's or whatever the next step is, yes I'll be selling them. Need some TR8U's?

Kind of funny, but I got an email from my web hosting company for one of my websites, they said a drive in the RAID array is failing and needs to be replaced - but don't worry no data has been lost. They replaced it in about 20 mins or so. Thought that was kind of neat that they use RAID for my websites and I'll be using it for my movies soon!

Ok so getting slightly back to the construction part of this thread..! I painted the bathroom downstairs next to the theater. I slept all day on Friday, so I had a bunch of energy. It's a big deal because it's the only room in the house except for the theater with anything but white walls. My wife has color issues, don't ask

Anyway here it is, I don't think I have any before pics, but just imagine a sea of white It's kind of amazing how much paint on the walls can change the way a room looks and feels.

Oh that mirror looks filthy, sorry.

Anyway, so now I may paint the hallway leading up to the theater door. Do you all think I should paint it and if so any color suggestions? I may paint the bedroom on the opposite side of the hallway the same color I just painted the bathroom, kind of a tanish/greyish/brown.

The hallway:

Whatcha think?

Glad to hear you're feeling better SW. I think back when you were building the door, we all wondered aloud why no color on that wall. But then you explained how the missus was color-challenged, and showed us the rest of the house. However, if she's giving the thumbs-up now...sure, I vote for some color. Your door has such punch, it seems almost like an oasis at the end of that hall (which I understand can be a pro...set the Theater apart). I think some color will warm things up, and make your posters pop.

Don't kill the little-lady; something fairly neutral, like what you have going on in the bathroom there would look fine IMO. We have the same color in our bedroom (although we're looking to do kind of a spa-ish, blue/gray thing).

Shawn, I think you should deff paint the wall down to the room. Even if it's a light beige. The trim you have would really be set off by painted walls. We are big into color my wife and I. All our rooms are painted dif colors. Nothing crazy. Tuscan color pallet pretty much. We also did the ceilings in all rooms. S. Williams have a designer in our area that did everything for us. For the ceilings whatever the wall was they used the lightest color in that family from the sample book. You know what I mean? There are what 6 colors on each slip. . .so they used the lightest one for the ceiling that had the wall color on it. We have larger trim like you. It's just the old fashion gingerbread build ups on each window and door. I think with your trim and the crown all the color they are and painted walls it would all really pop.

Just my opinion. I really like the bathroom. Nothing crazy just makes the other white really stand out. You should see if a S Williams in your area has the same thing. She was free for us to use cause my painter who is a friend only buys there for his business so when we were building they know everything would be coming from them. She was right on for our taste. A the time we has the stone for the floors, carpet, granite and cabinet colors all set already. She came in saw everything and our style for the furniture we already had picked out and set up the colors of the whole place.

Sorry if that was long.

Same here. I have an overall color theme for the open/joined areas of the house, but each specialized room has its own distinct color palette. The ceiling is either the lightest color on the card or a neutral "antique white" color, and the wall and crown trim colors are taken from the rest of the colors on the same card. The only exception are the kid's rooms, where they got to pick (with a little help) the colors.

Apartments have white or off-white walls. I'll never have white walls again. The only room in my house that has white walls is the garage, and only for maximum visibility.

Thanks guys - what color do you think would be good? I'm gonna get some swatches. Maybe light tans/browns?

I can't do dark like the bathroom, my wife would have a heart attack, but something in the middle of the boring white and the brown in the bathroom.

I'm gonna leave the trim and ceilings alone - I'd never get away with that. The ceilings are white and the trim is "bone white", which is like a cream color.
Shawn, since your wife is going to be the hard sell I would go with something in the tan family that would play off the ticket booth gold. Like I said someone picked all our colors. My wife was exactly like yours scared of the color thing but when the designer came in and talked with her she gave it a chance and now hates white.

I don't think you can go went with anything in the tan/ yellow family or even go into very light greens with an earth tone to it. You follow. When I get home I'll check the coloro of our hall and living room. Drop me a pm with email I can send you pics of them. You canshow them to her

Thanks, I agree the tans are probably best for me. Ok I got two samples that I liked. Do you like either of these and if so which, the darker or lighter?

I can try different ones or darker if you think I should. Keep in mind the hall is pretty dark at night time though and the flash is making it lighter than it is I think.
