How about - brighter, bigger, blacker , better.....
I'll take the 4 B's anytime!
I would say to have some patience and wait until these sets actually get reviewed and measured by more than one source before you react. First of all, the 2008 Pannys had black levels that were plenty black for most viewers. Yes, I know the Kuro's were slightly blacker, but for viewing in moderate and above ambient light conditions the blacks were pretty much the same as Kuros (black level obsessives will disagree with me, I understand that, this is my experience only). I know I will get flamed for this, so let me state that the Kuros do look slightly blacker when ambient light is moderate and lower. I watch 90% of my TV with some moderate to bright light, so not a big deal to me.
I spent about an hour sitting side by side between a Kuro and Panny going back and forth and yes, the Kuro was slightly darker and yes, it just wasn't a big deal to me. Your opinion my differ from mine. But I found the Panny black level fine. So if these new versions have even better black levels than the current generation, then I will be very happy. Especially since they have other picture improvements such as full motion resolution (sweet!).
Does anyone know what that 600 Hz Sub-field Drive they keep mentioning does for picture quality?
Also what does the elimination of "game mode" mean for the V series (or was it the X series)?
