Been following your threads too! Yes I do like the ELACs. I reckon based on what you have either owned or demo'd in your setup, the range to look at would have been the 600 Series(FS-607, 608, 609). Absolutely amazing sound and build quality. My lowly 207s are all I can afford at the moment, though Im hoping by this time next year I will have replaced all the 2 channel gear with Cyrus, and moved up at least to the ELAC FS249.

Bought a Nikon D90 yesterday so plan on retaking all my setup photos again next week!

Well its been a while since I updated/added anything to these systems, but the time has come!!
I have a new Cyrus 6XP stereo amp coming this week to replace the Cambridge 740A. I also have a new TV cabinet for the Living Room coming too (same as the Theatre Room but in a darker Walnut finish, as the soon-to-be-ex-missus is getting the existing one, and the TV!!)
So in the meantime, here is a few pics of my new Grado SR80i headphones:-

Well in the last month Ive had some big changes to the Living Room system. First the Cyrus amp, then the Grado headphones, then a new AV cabinet for the Living Room, and now, on an impulse, a Pioneer 50" C509 Kuro Plasma (great price!). I was in the market for a new TV as the soon-to-be-ex missus was taking the Loewe. Anyhoo, was at a product launch last week and noticed the brand in question was using Kuro plasmas as their displays of choice. Seeing them in action one more time just validated for me how good these TVs were. As luck would have it, the next day I stumbled across a link to an offshoot of Pioneer Australia's website selling 3 of these units at a great price, so I nabbed one. More than I really was going to spend, but seeing as the missus will be gone soon, who could stop me!
So it arrived today....

Well the New Year has, and will continue to, see some changes to my Stereo setup.

Gone are the 3 blue couches in favour of one, large lounge unit with a big long chaise. Added IKEA EXPEDIT cabinets along the right side wall. Re-orientated the coffee table to suit the lounge setup.

Most importantly to the equipment changes.
I have replaced the hardly run-in Cyrus 6XP with a Cyrus Pre XPd pre-amp and matching 8 Power. I am adding a second 8 Power which I should have next week. Will have a play with the setup configured for both bi-amping or mono-blocs, and see which one I prefer. For now here is the new pairing, ready to be installed:-





And down the track I plan on adding the matching CD8SE CD player, and a PSX-R unit for each unit (4 in total). Running out of room so the HTPC had to be dropped from the Living Room system!

Finally, Ive ordered these speakers from Swedish manufacturer XTZ:-



I should have the bookshelf part this week, but the bass modules are still some weeks away.

To be honest the screen is a fairly generic brand distributed over here by some acquaintances of mine. They do the job nicely. If I had a complaint though it would be with the alu frame. Mine is slightly warped so Ive had to do a bit of extra drilling in the wall behind to keep it flush against the wall at all sides.
The Sony VW60 is an awesome piece of kit and I watch all my HD collection in that room. However since getting the Pioneer Ive been using that a little more for movies (of the non-blockbuster kind) and I generally do the bulk of my gaming now on the Pio. I have no air-con in the theatre room and here in Summer (now) the room gets very very warm. The Living Room has air-con which is a blessing!

Shes now gone! So no chance of her getting the ELACs, although I will have to move them on in order to fit in the new XTZs above. Failing a sale, Ill move them into the theatre room to replace the Richters...

Few updates...

LIVING ROOM
I am now running 2 x Cyrus 8 Power amps, switched in mono mode, along with the Pre XPd. I have a Cyrus CD8SE coming next week. Due to a Time Capsule crash I had to re-rip my music collection, which I now do at 320kbp, fed into the Cyrus digitally via an Apple AirPort Express. Works fantastic, and allows control via the iPhone. The biggest annoyance though is I am STILL waiting for my speakers to arrive from Sweden. They actually came about a month ago but the entire container was damaged so customs refused to let it through, so now have to wait another few months for the speakers to arrive, AGAIN! (at least I still have the other XTZs on loan)

THEATRE ROOM
No real changes here, except Ive upgraded to an Xbox Elite (due to the massive price drop the day of the Slim announcement). have some 3D posters in the there so will take a pic or two in due course.

MAIN BEDROOM
Ok this is new for me. I decided to get a TV and wall mount it in this room, partly because I spend so much time falling asleep on the couch in the living room, I may as well do that in bed! At the moment there is no furniture in the room (the ex took it all) so I plan on getting some furniture next week. But I committed to the TV yesterday, the Sony KDL-40HX700. Stunning TV, and compliments the Kuro in the living room perfectly. Will upload pics of the install over the coming weeks.

BEER FRIDGE
Running low, because its too bloody cold here in Perth at the moment to drink beer!

Ok here's some pics of the TV and stuff in place in the bedroom. The bedroom needs a serious renovation (carpets, paint etc) which will begin in early September.

I love 'em. They are a big improvement over the ELAC floorstanders I had previously (which were no slouches). I can only surmise how good my new ones will be when they (eventually) arrive! Build quality is second-to-none. Wish I could afford the XTZ Divines though!

Couple of pics of the bedroom setup at night...

Had been running two PS3 machines for BR playback (one for Reg A, one for Reg B) but decided it was getting messy, so the opportunity to buy a hardware-modded Panasonic BD35 arose, at a great price, so sold the recently added( and redemption freebie) slim PS3.
A re-jigging of the AV cabinet is now required. Pics to follow.

Decided to install a fibre optic star ceiling kit in the Theatre Room. Firs kit arived would not work when the IR target was connected, but replacement ceiling kit arrived yesterday so I'll get cracking on installing that in the next few weeks. Couple of pics:-





I also managed to put up shelves in my store room for my BR/HD-DVD and CDs. Unfortunately I sold my wide angle lens so hard to get them all in the one image:-
