Also, I think it's already been posted before, but I just used the Best Buy B1G1 50% off deal to split the cost of two copies of MW2 between myself and a coworker. Made our individual totals about $49 after tax.

Im not gonna lie. $1589 in cart (plus the extra discounts making it almost $1000 AR's) I would pull the trigger right now and keep it pulled until I emptied my clip. I would then reload and empty it again. And then switch to my sidearm.

But $1944 puts that TV back up at a price where I got to think. And trust me I've already thought hard enough this year, and the 55" Vizio 240hz LED backlight LCD that will be MSRP'd @ $1999 is all I can think about.


Actually considering this is the official "Xbox Deals" thread.. I think if its an occasional off-topic deal (and a helluva deal) that is directly related to playing an Xbox. (Like a TV.. you cant play an Xbox without something to display it on.. so Nerds unbelievable deal on 60" Plasma for $1250 bucks) is something Im sure most Xbox'ers would want to know about.

Since Tronn was talkin about a standalone BR player.. which in no way or form directly affects gaming on a Xbox.. then yes he should atleast have rocks thrown at him or settle out of court by buying us all beer.

Oh, I totally agree that it makes sense to provide info on TV deals here. The Blu-ray player deals are a little OT though and that's the only thing I was referring to in my original post. Too bad the XBox 360 Blu-ray drive never materialized. BTW, it wasn't made to be a bash but only a suggestion since there was already a specific thread to cover that kind of deal. Also, sorry about the BB repost. I know it was, but I hadn't initially thought about splitting the cost. Individually, I wouldn't have used the deal since the next game that I want will probably be Bad Company 2 unless GH5 ends up being worth it as I only have GH3 currently.

BTW, I'll take a good Hefeweizen. Maybe Ayinger Brau Weisse?

Spyder I've been in love with that TV since it was announced back at CES '09 which was 9 months ago!!! I was so infactuated with it, I saved my entire tax refund check all spring waiting for it to show up in Costco or SamsClub. Which is never did. It was to release sometime before the summer, with an MSRP of $1999.. and a street price of $1799/

Vizio remained was quiet about the tv all year long, until about 2 months ago.. when they announced it was 'still coming soon'. But MSRP was now raised to $2199. That didnt bother me, as I figured it will still street price under $2000. They've since announced the MSRP is back to $1999 and the TV is scheduled to debut this fall.. I have no idea whats taking so long, but I can be a patient man when I really want something.

And I really want this, because I've owned 2 Vizio's already, both 50" 720 Plasmas, and they both have given me an experience double what I paid for them. I have not had a single problem with them and the picture has always been fantastic. I paid $2599 for the first one.. back in June '05. It was unheard of then to find a 50" HD flatscreen for under $5k. And Vizio did it. Not only did they do it.. it came with a lifetime Costco warranty and it was the only 50" with PIP that worked with the VGA port. Which was important to me.. because if Im using my TV to surf the internet.. I can still watch TV in a small PIP window.

I waited about a year, and watched as the price continued to drop on that TV. Eventually I did the Costco return trick.. got my $2599 back in cash. And bought a 2nd one off shelf right then and there at the same store.. for $1699. Sure I put $900 back in my pocket, and it was lame to have done that, but it was perfectly legal with the lifelong return policy. Costco and Sams Club have since changed that policy on electronics to 90 days. So I wont be doing it again. Whats amazing is you can still buy this TV for $800 shipped from Vizio.

Long story short.. because of my experience with them. I've recommended Vizio to everyone I know. I know atleast a 100 people with Vizio's and they all say great things about the picture and quality. Considering the current 55" LED backlit sets from Sony & Samsung run over the $5,000 mark.. and Vizio's version is $2000. This TV is deja'vue all over again.. just like the incredible deal I got back in 2005.

I have planned to put the new 55" LED in the living room.. and the old 50" Plasma in the bedroom. As it stands I still get a compliments on the 50" Plasma right now. One of the best CE goods I've ever purchased.

Agreed on the VGA port scenario. The one I have has not only an adjustable PIP feature, but also a 50/50 split-screen function that I've used occasionally for gamebattles and such.

As for recommending Vizios to friends, I figure I've sent them some real money their way as well. Considering I got my 32" a few years ago new for the paltry sum of $200 (back when what used to be a "huge" 19" widescreen monitor was around $400) I've got nothing to regret whatsoever. I can't even imagine using a 50" as a comp display...at least not on my desk anyway.

Youre right.. its actually PIP or POP (when you display an image on split screen). Vizios are an easy sell to friends/family/coworkers/neighbors/etc.. because they originally were sold through Costco or Samsclub. You couldnt beat that lifetime warranty or price. Now that Walmart and pretty much every other major retail carries Vizio.. its no wonder theyve been the fastest growing flat panel manufacter year after year.

To keep this thread on subject.. just read on Microcenter's latest email that if you buy any model 360 from them.. You get a $50 gift card instantly. Purchase must be made in store. Great deal for anyone who picking up a new 360 anyways.

My Bravo D1 was the first thing that I bought from them...waaaaayyyyy back before they started making TVs. It has all the features of the Oppo, but it was 1/5 the cost. Typical Vizio. It's still in use to this day.

Now, if we can just get Vizio to take over the Xbox and make a reliable unit plus bring the price down to a reasonable $50, then...
