Batman Arkham City is $29 at Best Buy this week. If you are part of their paid Gamers Club, there is a $20 coupon in this month's magazine. I picked up the game for $10.60 yesterday.

Powerup Heroes for the Kinect is $21 on Amazon. The kids and I tried the demo this weekend and loved it. My kids are 4 and 7, and both of them were able to pull off all the moves and spar with ease. Great game for the kids, (and dads ), and a great price to boot.

Powerup Heroes is actually pretty fun (vs.) for my 6-yr-old, and myself...
It was surprisingly responsive to the moves. The standard campaign is pretty frustrating sometimes, and I can see why it never really took off. Some of the higher level opponents double up their moves pretty quickly, so you have trouble even getting a shot in.
I had to finish up a couple of the guys, so he could gain their suit.
I have not been able to beat the final boss. YMMV

Best Buy has an instore gaming magazine which has coupons inside of it. The Batman game is on sale for $30 this week, but there is a $20 off coupon in the magazine. The other 3 games were $20 each, but each had a $15 off coupon. Check it out soon before they're all gone!

I just filled out that Amazon 'Tell us about a lower price' option for Batman AC. Maybe they'll match it.

I did this.

Batman was 30 bucks.
Signing up for the BB Gamers club was 15 bucks.
Since I joined the gamers club, they gave me the 20 bucks off Batman

So what I came out with was 30 + 15 - 20 = 25.

Sweet. And now I have a magazine subscription that actually includes coupons I might use (screw you Gamestop may you rot).

I really hate Gamestop.

Normally Amazon is my one stop shop for gameage, but BB might see more of my business now.

There have been some really outstanding deals these last few months. I think Warhammer Space marines ended up being $10 last month with coupon. I picked up Rage for $5 I am so tempted to do buy Mass Effect 2 ($5) and give that to one of my friends as a gift.

The other coupon that may end up being good is the $10 off used game $19.99 or more.

  • Xbox 360 Wireless Controller - Glossy Black - $29.96 (from $49.99)
  • Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter A/B/G & N Networks -$48.45 (from $59.99)
  • Xbox 360 320GB Hard Drive with LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars - $94.96 (from $129.99)
  • Xbox 360 Silver Controller (with adjustable D-pad) and Play & Charge Kit - $42.24 (from $64.99)
  • Xbox LIVE 12 Month Gold Starter Kit (12 months of Xbox Live Gold, chatpad, headset, 400 Microsoft points) - $49.96 (from $74.99)
  • Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel - $39.99 (from $59.99)
  • Xbox 360 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Wireless Headset with Bluetooth - $40.00 (from $69.99)

I'm surprised no one posted about the accessories sale at Amazon...

I'm really tempted by the hard drive since it comes with the game. The hard drive is designed for the newer 360S systems but can be used on older 360 consoles if you remove the HD from the case and put it in the external case for the original 360 hard drive (plenty of tutorials at places like Youtube).

The gold starter pack is fantastic if you don't have a chatpad or a headset. It comes with 400 points for free in addition to a spare Microsoft headset.

I'm loving the speed wheel!

And if you want the newer wireless Microsoft headset for chatting, there it is with MW3 graphics (though Kinect games are better with the older wireless headset because of the jumping around).

The silver Microsoft controller has the adjustable D-pad (directional pad) and the controller is just higher quality than the normal 360 controller. The adjustable D-pad makes it easier to use the D-pad in games (everyone knows about the horrible D-pad in the regular 360 controller).

I have to say, that Microsoft Speed Wheel isn't bad......I thought I'd hate it, and it won't replace a wheel, but its DAMNED sensitive and works well......unlike the Wii there is no lag at all....

I love the silver controller, not for the new dpad, which actually hardly improves on the old design(it's still a disc, but with more pronounced plus, when switched), but for the thumb stick design. Instead of the 4 little nubs it has a ring around the circumference of the top, it's a tiny change but to me, it makes a big difference. They feel a lot better and somehow more precise.

I was tempted to buy one of the new collectors edition xboxes, but I decided not to because the pictures of the controllers show the nub design. I won't use those anymore.

Best Buy has it for the same price, for anyone with Reward Zone points to spend. Since Gold is normally $60 anyway, it's well worth it for the points, chatpad, and additional headset as a bonus.

I've found the D-Pad on the silver to be infinitely more accurate than standard. Just be sure to rotate it 90 degrees so the direction buttons are most pronounced. Far fewer missed commands.

I've owned it for a while, I actually started playing through it again recently. I'm not at all big into Japanese cartoons or even JRPG's, but it is a surprising amount of fun.

I wrote a review of it here.

What about the new thumb stick design? What is your opinion on that?
Didn't notice a difference really in the thumbsticks. Then again I have the FPS Freeks clipped over the surface anyways.

Personally, I do like the 4 markers on the original controllers - helps me orient myself like the little tabs on a keyboard.

http://www.buy.com/prod/xbox-360-liv...223400383.html

deal ends tomorrow (3/21/12)

Buy.com has a great deal where you get 1 year of XBL Gold with 5 XBLA games and these games aren't cheap! And most of them are great.

It's $49.99 but if you are a new customer, you can apply the $10 off code (don't worry about the missing penny even though the code says $10 off $50; buy.com will accept the code anyway so you don't need to buy any filler).

Download codes for the XBLA titles will be emailed to each customer at the end of the promotion on 3/22/2012. THe 5 free XBLA titles include:
  • Lode Runner
  • Aqua
  • Snoopy Flying Ace
  • The Maw
  • R-Type Dimensions
Xbox LIVE Card must be purchased from Buy.com.

Lode Runner, Snoopy Flying Ace, and The Maw are 800 points each normally ($30). Lode Runner was originally a $15 title (big mistake on their part) but settled at $10 as a normal price.

R-Type Dimensions is 1200 points ($15).

The only dud game is Aqua which is normally 400 or $5.
