Well, my order is placed!

I was able to negotiate an agreeable price with the [ONLINE RESELLER].

A fellow member of the AVS Forum posted that he had gotten a [VERY GOOD PRICE] from [ONLINE RESELLER]. I was able to work them for an extra $50 off of his price, and then worked them down $50 on their [GENEROUSLY DISCOUNTED] deal on a 3D Starter Kit.

I'll send for the free starter kit once the TV arrives and I'll be set for 3D entertaining for a party of up to four.

I'm excited! Does anyone know how long Motor Freight Delivery takes to travel from Spokane WA to Madison WI?

Regards,
Spence

Congrats! I am truly amazed at this tv. Granted, I did not get hd feeds with my prior hd television, but now I do and cannot believe the difference in pq quality, especially with sporting events, just amazing.

Also, my cable provider updated a few channels and to my surprise, my channel guide was automatically updated without running the channel guide setup and it even added channels that I did not have prior to the change. I have never experienced a tv that has done that without rerunning the channel guide setup.

CRAP! Delivery scheduled for Monday afternoon.

I had hoped that it would come in on Friday, so I'd have the weekend for "bonding time".

On the positive side, this will give me the weekend to prep and refresh my entertainment center. The TV stand was delivered assembled, and put into place on Tuesday. I still need to fashion a small structural modification.

My components need to be removed, & blown out. Rack needs a thorough dusting, and everything needs to get put back together with some serious cable management in mind.

Busy work - to keep my mind off of how slowly this week is going.

Does anyone have ideas for optimal (and aesthetically pleasing) placement of the IR emitter for the 3D glasses?

Regards,
Spence

Look on the "bright" side. If you were planning on watching a weekend worth of sports using the Brilliant mode you may be saving yourself a trip to the ophthalmologist's office. LOL

What stands are you all using for this beast anyway? I'm looking for something pretty low with clear doors to cover the equipment while still allowing the IR to pass. Can anyone recommend something?

I went cheap, with this 65" stand from Sanus. It is "open", and attractive, however it is rated at 150 pounds, for a television weighing in at 154#. I have designed, and will implement a simple/easy structural support that will not compromise the existing structure, and yet help to better distribute the weight of the LaserVue in such a way so as to alleviate my concern over the additional four pounds and will detail it (with photos) for publishing at a later date.

The LaserVue is only 1.4" wider than the stand, so just under 3/4" will hang over each side. My next option was a 72" wide stand, but my wife favored not losing any more wall space.

here's a giggle!

Amazon is showing a special "Black Friday" price on the LaserVue.

Not even close to the prices that we are finding out here!
Oh! yes I have owned this LaserVue TV for a year and simply said there has been and to date is no other TV that can match it picture.

Simple Awesome and incredible to watch ... 6k and worth it all.

My unit should arrive in 2 weeks or so. My Qualia 006 has a second failing OB. I have a few questions.

1) What are my current options for a 3D Blu-ray that outputs checkerboard? Is one considered the best? I hear the Panny 350 may not be around.

2) Has anyone confirmed a "reliable" extended warranty to cover this TV?

3) I am also getting a Sony XBR-60LX900 3DTV. Am I correct in assuming that there are not 3D glasses that I can use on both this tv ad the LaserVue?
It looks like the Sony is not checkerboard.

Sorry if these are obvious questions -I am just now trying to get up to speed on 3D.

thanks,

Ron

First warning the set has 4 screws in back to keep laser from moving while is shipping. Only remove these after you place the set where you want it .
And replace them when ever you move the set.

Also if you getting a Laservue why also buy another 3d tv once you see this picture you will say Sony sucks ..

Laservue is 3D TV ... I run my set through Onkyo THX video through surround sound system ..

Their 3D Adapter is available as part of our 3D Starter Pack (model # 3DC-1000) 399. Directv has 6 - 3D channels now ..

The 3D Adapter takes the 3D signal (either side-by-side or Top/bottom) from your satellite box and converts into the Checkerboard Display format supported by the LaserVue TV.

Mitsubishi offers no extended warranty the basic warranty offer free replacement TV if any problems take longer then 2 weeks . If you do call them say give me USA support instead of the overseas crap.

See you in the LaserVue Premier member forum for any answer on your system .

They do make wall mount buzzillions.com/reviews/mitsubishi-lwm-65-wall-mount-l65-a90-laservue-reviews

I say this because I see some placing the Tv on questionable stands.
At the cost the last thing you want is tv to crash and burn on cheap stand .

Thank you for your help.
When my Qualia started dying Sony offerred me their 60" 3DTV at no charge. Nice to get a free $4500 tv but, then again, I spent almost $13,000 on the Qualia 4.5 years ago. The Sony is going in the kid's play room upstairs.

I have DTV & Comcast. I will have to check out their 3D channels for sure though I don't expect too much this early.

I am not going to replace my Denon 5308CI AVR. Any good 3D Blu-rays that have dual HDMI outputs? And yes -when I get a chance I will bounce over to the Blu-ray threads. This all came about quickly so I have not had time to research much at all.

Thanks again,

Ron

If you're not in a huge hurry, the OPPO BDP-93 will have dual HDMI outputs. The target release is late this year / early next year.

I might just wait. Not sure how long I can hold out. I would love an OPPO.

Thanks!

Get a PS3 to hold you over. Later when you get the OPPO, you've still got a pretty nice game machine and a very respectable backup Blu-ray player.

Sorry been busy & sick. It didn't look good, but no fault of any hardware. I bid & won the 3D Alice off ebay, it was advertised as an authentic, US version, instead I received a Chinese bootleg. The PQ on the disc seems above avg to me, so until I get my hands on an authentic version I'll have to wait before posting.

I watched about 20 mins of the Boise College Football game on ESPN3D, I can't wait to see NFL games broadcast in 3D, what the heck is Roger & the NFL waiting for? Geez!

Ugh. I hope you've contacted the seller or filed a dispute with ebay / PayPal, etc. and left appropriate feedback.

the new samsung 7300 has 2 h hdmi and is less than 300.00
post #1497 of 2551
Thanks GSR,

Yes I did, he wrote me some BS story claiming it was authentic, blah, blah, blah, anyway I already filed through Ebay, he agree to full refund, now I just have to stop being lazy & ship it out to him before the 28th.

I watched the 1st 12 mins of Alice 3D, looks like a decent film, but I keep saying, to truly enjoy 3D you need a big screen TV like Laservue or larger, anything smaller you don't get the same immersion. W/ Alice 3D various colors, it will shine on this TV, as long as it's an authentic copy.

I've got a couple PS3's now. I would prefer to run the audio through the avr's to get the lossless. Of course I am more interested in seeing the 3D so I will "suffer" on the sound side of things for a while!

Alice is not as good as 3D can be on any size screen because it was upconverted. Shot in 2D and and rendered in 3D by inferring (not the best word here) parallax from the 2D image, and then simulating it.

Avatar was shot in 3D with the parallax information genuinely recorded through the use of two cameras.

As Cameron put it, sometimes this "upconversion" can be reasonably succesful if sufficient time and care is put into the process.

Cameron referred to it as "2.5 D" (or something to the effect). Computer generated films, are easier to render as 3D in that the entire environment is digitally created in 3D already, and only the depth map need be extracted and re-rendered.
