settings for marantzsr7001

i am new to the avs forums and i have macbook and a marantz sr7001. i have my macbook set up to be my media server but the problem i am having is i dont know how to make the correct settongs on my marantz receiver. i have hdmi (macbook on export video through minidvi port) going into vcr 1 for video and an optical cable going into the back of the receiver for sound. i would appreciate any feedback on how to do this..
