Cisco RNG200 DVR Box - How to connect an IR Extender?

I have Comcast here in Houston and I recently got the Cisco RNG 200 DVR box. It has a little port on the back that says "IR." I thought I could buy a cable like this:

and be able to hide the DVR in my cabinets while the IR cable stays outside the cabinets.

It does not work. Any ideas?

I am also looking to get an IR extender for this exact model DVR.

Does anyone know anything about this maybe?

I'm bumping this, since I now have this box and am looking for something similar. Has anyone found anything that works ? If so please give back to the community, and tell us what it is !! Thanks

I know this is an old thread but I checked the box anyway to give further info.

A local Comcast tech told me today that they literally have thousands of the plug in IR receivers and he is dropping one off to me in the next couple of days. Some reports say that the IR port in the back is inactive, but the tech assures me that the port is indeed active and will work. (at least on Comcast in my area)

Adebar & thedoc46 the ones you link to are emitters not receivers. That is why they are a no go. Try this is you can't get a free one from your cable provider: http://www.amazon.com/Infrared-Recei.../ref=pd_cp_e_1

When I get it and test it I will post back here. I love public service and giving back to the community. LOL.
