It seems some people have some time restraints, so I'm going to bump the time up to Noon....
If people need to come earlier that want to do setup that is fine....

PM me if you need to....

I will be there a little early, of course.

I don't suppose Epik subwoofers would be willing to send something our way for the shootout? I know it's short notice, but it would be cool. Plus they are out of Chicago, so... Anyway, just a thought. If not, perhaps next time.
I'll be there around 11am hopefully.

That would be really great if Epik had something there. That new Dragon 18" would fit right in. What's this mystery subwoofer that'll be there anyway? How about a clue? Is it DIY, commercial, released, prototype, Epik?

No Clues.... !!!!!

But heres a preview for you Ricci - your pretty new XXX box is almost done...

Just have to trim the edges and pop in the speakon connection....

Heck I'm in Minneapolis, I would absolutely come in for a spectacle like that.

I have nothing I could bring to it really, accept cases of beer! My 2 Mal-x's are en rout.

This sounds like a great time! I love to see what other people are doing with their set ups.
Woot! Lookin all sexy and stuff. That TC2K is doing it's current job well. Thanks man. It seems well braced and solid!

Should I bring some mounting hardware with me? I usually use T-nuts and 10/24 Allen head bolts. Do you have a local hardware store close to your place that I can run out to and pick this stuff up at during a beer run? I'll probably grab a few of the Wally world pillows to stuff in there too.

I've been trying to decide on some good audio tracks to use. It's really tough to narrow it down to just a couple. I want 1 or 2 that are good for critical listening and 1 that is going to really stress out the drivers (this is the tough one).

That's a sturdy lookin' box there, Warp. A nice present for Ricci.

Wish I could make it this weekend.

You don't need Tnuts, and in fact, I will not allow you to use them in my enclosure.. !!!!! Thats a rule...

Tell me what the size of the holes are on the driver... diameter... I use FAT stainless screws on my drivers, heavy duty baby..... we have plenty of options - Home Depot or Ace hardw.... No worries buddy...

Need some help with a couple of things fella's....

If anyone has a free receiver or a 2 channel preamp with sub output that would be a great help to bring along... If not I can rip one out of one of my systems.....

From the latest news, It is regretful to state that John Hanitz (Elite Audio) won't be able to make it but John Janowitz stated he will be bringing most of that gear, I am sorry that Elite Audio can't make it to the event. His knowledge and presence will be missed.

Hopefully my email out to Epik will generate some interest...

A new Dragon would be a great presence at this meet...

Really looking forward to the output from this!

I was hoping to pickup my Epik Phoenix by Friday, but it won't be ready for another week or so. It would be interesting to compare it with the other subs at your shootout.

Ok guys, I have been given the green light to reveal the surprise guest appearance.....

Brian from Rythmik audio contacted me last week and wanted to have us be the first to listen to his New Prototype 15" Ported Servo sub.... He has already shipped it, and will arrive soon. With Brandon brining his D-15, we will have the ability to compare the Sealed and Ported together side by side.

Specs:

500WRMS class H servo amp. 24"(D)x24"(H)x18"(W) without grille. Grille adds 1". Two 3-1/2" ports tuned to 19hz with two ports and 14hz with one port plug (the rumble filter has two postitions to match them respectively). Defeatable limiter. Other than that, same control layout as our sealed sub, same driver as our sealed servo subs.

Very cool!

I can't wait to hear it. Brian filled me in a bit on his opinion of it compared to the sealed version, so we shall see ourselves Saturday.

Patrick

The above is my fault, we will be using my new parasound 2100 preamp with sub outs for most of the night but I need to pack up early(around 4ish) for a surprise B-day party at my parents place. Can anyone scrounge up any receiver or something to use so Patrick(who has enough time spent on this GTG already) does not have to rip his out from the setup?

Thanks guys for understanding

See everyone Saturday!

Brandon

What are we up to now, 15 different subs?

I can bring an old NAD 3150 for a preamp if it is absolutely necessary, but my Jeep is going to be crammed full already. If anyone else can please take care of this that'd be awesome.
I have an old Adcom gfp 555 in the closet but id doesn't have a sub out...

Alright guys..... I think its time for a Roll Call here so I can start to plan for the food and beverage portion of this GTG...

I would appreciate it if everyone that is for sure going to make it to Email me letting me know and what they are bringing...
Here is my Junk Box Shytbox@gmail.com

I have gotten so many PM's about all this and that - that the info is starting to get a bit discombobulated..

Very interesting! Do you know if the driver is the same as in the sealed unit?

Ok.... sorry guys.... I have to cancel.... I'm going to kill my kid, and I'll have to attend the funeral on saturday....

Ok just kidding, but I will have to state at this point, there will be no more additions to any more gear being brought. It is already to a point that we may not get to everything that is coming, and I don't want to crowd it anymore.

As a side note... I want everyone to bring a 6 pack of their favorite exotic beer, so there will be a large variety for other to sample... I will have the Hard Liquor covered for those of you that prefer that sort of thing - namely ME....

I'm so jealous. I'm going to be looking in to getting a sub in the next year or so and would love to hear a bunch of different ones.

BTW how late do you think this may go? I'm contemplating leaving work early and could maybe be up there later.
