I looked through the few threads on this topic and came up with no real answers, so here goes. I have a Lite-On BD drivein my HTPC, and an Audigy 2 ZS connected to a Z-5500 via 6-channel analog. I use PDVD8 Ultra, and obviously it shows the HD audio track in the info window when selected in a movie, but I have a few questions about the actual output.

1. Can the computer actually output the TrueHD/DTS-HD/MA via analog outputs, or do I need specific hardware?

2. Since the Z-5500 isn't spec'd for those formats, if they are truly getting passed to it, can it actually play that audio?

Basically I am trying to find out if I need to/should buy a receiver capable of handling these audio formats, or if the hardware and speakers I already have can do the job. Thanks in advance for any help.
