*Official* Zotac Geforce 9300 Mini-Itx HTPC Motherboard Thread - Page 3

Zotac appears to be a promising new mobo maker. My research showed respectable product reviews for their MATX boards. But reviews for their 8200 ITX were less than flattering (one site said Blu-ray playback flat out didn't work). Hope they learned their lessons and didn't cut corners with this highly anticipated ITX board.

Well today if officially the day the board gets released in the states. Hopefully we'll see it hit stores sometimes this week or next. Keeping my fingers crossed as this is the final piece I need for my build.

The Zotac part number is GF9300-D-E, so use this when searching for availablity. It's listed on froogle now, but it's out of stock and a bit pricey in the $145 range!

Maybe this week we'll see it in stock?

It looks like newegg has it in stock.

Does anybody know if this motherboard can boot without a monitor?

It should be able to as most modern computers can. Do you have a link for it? If its the only 9300 they have in stock, then thats the matx version. We're waiting for the ITX version

Newegg had the Mini ATX board.

The Dell Vostro computer I use at work only has the following options in the BIOS

1. Halt on all errors
2. Halt on all errors but keyboard

It doesn't boot without a monitor.

I don't see it anywhere on the egg. Can you show us the link?

I noticed the same thing. NewEgg does change prices on the fly. After shipping and sales tax to CA, that's just to much money for me. I'll wait for more retailers to carry it, and prices will fall.

I grabbed it. Seeing that its the last piece I need for me waiting a few weeks to save $20...I just couldn't do it (and no sales tax for me). Besides, the sooner I get this up and running, the sooner I can my can my cable DVR box. I have seen that on newegg before, with price changes. I am ready for my new MOBO!

Be sure and post your reactions, once you get it up and running! And pictures, of course;

Hi,

Could this MB fit into a 2" height case?

Could anyone measure the height of the heatsink on this baby?

Thanks.
I will when it gets here.
I would absolutely love it if someone could reassure me that this board isn't as flaky with HDMI as the DG45FC. It works, but it seems hit or miss when changing settings sometimes :\\ Also would love to know if there are any issues with and/or coming out of S3 (Suspend to RAM) Standby (HDMI related or otherwise). Another common issue the DG45FCs had were a noisy coil... hoping this baby is dead silent.

Once ya got your hands on them of course

Thanks, and good luck with your boards!

MI-100BK (Virtually identical interior to MI-008 AFAIK). A slight warning though, HDD won't fit if you're using RAM with heatspreaders taller than the PCB itself, or a PicoPSU, where the HDD will sit on it and be 1-2mm over the screw holes. Love it otherwise. Solid, amazingly quiet PSU if you choose to use it (tons of clearance if you don't), full sized optical drive, and room for a 120mm exhaust which I plan to run very slow, and as the only fan. A bargain for sure.

On the other hand, it does feel like there's a lot of wasted space, and that SD100 looks pretty darn sweet.

I'm trying the Winsis Wi-02 first. As soon as I can find it I want to use the SUGO5 from Silverstone.

Well I officially ordered it today, it should be shipped out tomorrow and I should have it by Wednesday, as I don't live too far from the newegg warehouse and UPS sorting facility. I though t for sure I would be the first one to notice it was up for sale. I had been checking newegg three times a day! All I have left to order now is a TV tuner and wireless keyboard. Then I'll be set.

I'll be installing Windows 7 64bit beta for anyone that is interested, as I dont have a copy of Vista lying around. I also might do XP if I can find it cheap.

Looks like I picked up the last one on newegg, as now its showing out of stock.

I'm actually hoping to put this into an original Xbox case and turn that into my new htpc. I've got a thread about that here if anyone else has some ideas/input for the project.

waiting with great interest for reports on this one

I am a bit hesitant after the problems with the Intel board but this looks like it could show great promise.

I have been finding it dificult to find a small, good looking case at a reasonable price but have just come across this

can't find any real dimensional information but it looks like it may be a bit tight!

as well as the height the DVD drive is mid level which may be a problem

would love to know what height is needed inside the case for the stock cooler and then could work out if a smaller one would fit.

once your boards start ariving, if you get a chance, this info would be great.

The dimensions inside the manual claim a 63mm height, which may include feet or not. Not sure I'm reading the diagrams right, but it doesn't look like the DVD would really overhang the board by more than a few mm (+cables). Stock 45nm Core2Duo cooler is 61mm, so that's a no go. Silverstone NT07-775 to the rescue however :P 37mm, check it out.

P.S. Boards back in stock @ the Egg!

And now "Deactivated Item" on newegg.ca for some reason... just my luck. Just when I was about to order :\\

nice find! dont know how I missed that its ideal

was looking at various designs but they were all wider than stock so may have had other clearance issues or problems with backplates.

so it looks like the case is sorted and the cooler is covered and I have found a UK seller getting stock in a week or 2. starting to get excited now
