The Harmony 1100 Owner's Thread... - Page 67

Squareeyes,

I tried several times to contact you on iconharmony.com which never seemed to send messages. I would like to know if you could convert a couple of icons for my local area (Pittsburgh PA) from the Harmony One page to the Harmony 1100 page. the ones I need are labeled in the Harmony One section as:

WPXI_PIT02
WPGH_PIT
MyTV_PIT

These icons are only available in the Harmony One section, and are too large on my 1100. Your icon selection is excellent and I found EVERY icon that I need. You need this same excellent list available for the 1100 as well. I tried Lyngsat's logos, but after using yours for the past few years, there is no comparison. Your icons work excellent in my Harmony One, 700 and 650. Thank you for any help.

Sincerely,
Mike Holuba

Okay I just got mine. I'm VERY frustrated with it. PLEASE HELP!

The input doesn't go correctly with my setup. For example, I click on my "TV icon" and the TV and cable box turns on, BUT the input is on the wrong one.

Also when I'm watching TV and I click on my DVD icon everything turns on. My TV, dvd player, and AV receiver, but it doesn't go to the right input again.

When I click on the help button it corrects it with a few clicks, but doesn't stay or fix the problem. I've been at it for 4-5 hours and I'm pulling my hair out.

I just responded to a similar post in the 900 thread. You need to increase the value of the Power On Delay for the TV to something like 14000. Select Devices, TV, Adjust the delays, change the value, save and test.

I'll try that out. If it doesn't work should I keep on increasing it?

You should have 90 days of free telephone configuration help. Use the help feature in the software if you're still having trouble getting the timing right for all your devices..

I need some help with a buddies 1100 (I have the Harmoney One). My friend has a Samsung LED TV, BLuray Player, AVR, Xbox configuration. He just setup his 1100 and can't get NetFlix to work. He has setup a netflix activity with macros to take him to netflix on the TV. However, the remote has a screen with arrows that are grayed out and are not usable. My guess is that we need help trying to make Netflix work when the service is imbedded into a TV. Can yuo help?

Just got new 1100. Did firmware update. Actually did a couple of times. When watching the status details it looks like it continuously overwrote first update during second update. Is this normal? How would I know what updates were added after each download. Just wanting to see if any updates relate to any of my devices or 1100 issue corrections.

When you select netflix actvity what are your harmony "hard" remote buttons set to? You will need to set them to the buttons from the tv remote. you might find they are set to something else. (i.e. on mine they were set to the direction buttons from the cable box). If that fails, go to devices and try the buttons in there.

I'm had same problem. Have SC-67. Couldn't get direction pad or select to work. Just bought 1100. Figured all was going to work like a charm. Called Tech support as we have 90 days. We did get it to work. Basicly all was all the settings had to be created using Raw Learn IR Codes. I was a little disappointed because I figured once Logictech incorporated the device you figure everything would work. At least I learned a valuable lesson. Learn how to load codes from one remote to another. Tech claims AVR companies don't provide them with all the codes to create functions for devices. They were actully following my uploaded codes as I was inputting them. They were comparing to what they had on record. Spent couple of hours on Saturday with them. Was very frustrating. Worst thing is after 90 days they will not support product unless you pay. That's not going to happen. I still have problems getting to NET input and selecting files. But I'm going to keep at it. Look at it as a learning experince as I'm sure something else will crop up that I'm going to have to solve myself.

Does the Harmony 1100 really not know what a Motorola VIP 1216 is? It is the primary remote we use to watch TV and DVRed shows. Is anyone running them together?

thanks

Hans, Check out the blog at this link for a good tutorial on setting up a Harmony One with a Mac Mini. Even got favorites to work as app launch buttons like "netflix". The same set up should work for the Harmony 1100 using the software.
Cheers, RC

Looking for a little help

I have an 1100 where all of a sudden the screen has started to flip 180 deg. If I plug it in and do an update remote the screen goes back to normal, a few weeks later it flips again, any hints as to why it's doing this, I did do a firmware update.

I have two of these, both of them have started doing it after about 15 months. It has been fixed everytime by removing the battery, and then the screen goes back to normal. No idea what causes it, but there are some others with the same problem on the logitech forums and other forums.

I am looking into the Harmony 1100 and have a few questions that I was hoping to get answered. Once I set up and add my equipment are the screens for each component fully configurable? For example if I choose the “Watch Cable TV” activity and it turns all my components on and the screen to a screen that shows common cable TV remote controls can I configure the cable remote screen to contain the controls I find most valuable along with a list of favorite channels? Can I scale the size of the icons to pack in as much as I fine ideal on the screen? How is the width of the IR signal? Does it need to be pointed directly at each component? I will be adding an RF extender, but this won’t be extended to the TV. I have had good experience with the URC RF extenders and bad experiences in the past with off brand RF extenders. How is the RF extender that Logitech sells? I have seen in some youtube videos that the remote asks you if everything executed properly after executing an activity. Can you disable this feature? I have a Sony STR-DA3700ES receiver, KLD-55HX750 TV and BDP-s790 Blu-ray. They all seem to have “Bravia Sync” and I think there is a way to have them all turn on/off if any one of them turns on/off. Anyone have any experience with this? It would make my activities much easier. This remote does support discrete commands correct? All my components support discrete on/off. I looked through a few pages of this forum and I didn't see many screen shots of standard cable/receiver/blu-ray screen set-ups. Anyone have links to a few they could share. May be some in this thread, but I will admit I didn't read all 67 pages.

I do not have an 1100, but will try to answer those questions that are common to Harmony remotes.

1. Yes

2. Can I scale the size of the icons to pack in as much as I fine ideal on the screen? No

3. How is the width of the IR signal? Does it need to be pointed directly at each component? It is reasonable but is dependent on your room and surfaces. It should operate similar to your original remote.

4. How is the RF extender that Logitech sells? It is reasonable

5. I have seen in some youtube videos that the remote asks you if everything executed properly after executing an activity. Can you disable this feature? I am surprised that this feature exists, suspect this is non standard.

6. I have a Sony STR-DA3700ES receiver, KLD-55HX750 TV and BDP-s790 Blu-ray. They all seem to have “Bravia Sync” and I think there is a way to have them all turn on/off if any one of them turns on/off. Anyone have any experience with this? Turn off all these sync features in the various devices. The Harmony handles the power on/off state of all devices.

7. This remote does support discrete commands correct? Yes

Ya might be , gotta charge it full to make sure but i remember that now , does it not charge off of USB why using software ?

I was also scared when I firstly charged H.1100: The display showed a "half charge" icon. Later I discovered that it is nothing more than an icon. The real amount of charge is shown by the icon you see on the device's screen after H.1100 is taken off the charger.

Recently purchased an 1100 and really like the remote, except for 1 thing. there is a annoying delay when i am using ti with my uverse cable box. has anyone had this same issue. i am using it with the rf receiver. it is almost impossible to fast forward through commercials and get it to play at the right time...

Just got the old man to finally replace his Mitsubishi rear projector with a Panasonic VT50 (yay!) and now he's enlisted me in helping him find a replacement for this awful URC unit the pro installers set up when he built the house. First, is the website still being supported? Second, will this work with a new iMac running Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8)? The website indicates compatibility only extended to OS X 10.5. I've been really happy with my Harmony One and would like to make this easier on him than it's been.

I just talked to Harmony in regards to purchasing a new battery for my 1100. It is no longer holding a charge very well.

Harmony told me they no longer have the batteries for sale. That was strange.

Are they in that much trouble they have stopped selling batteries?

MY question:

Where can I get a new battery for the 1100?

I called Logitech this morning and they said they were out of stock, but that Amazon has batteries for the 1100. The same battery works in the 1000 as well.

The part number at Amazon is 1250 MAH and it's a 3.7v battery that's priced at about $10.00.

Well seeing as I just purchased one of these I thought it would be the best place to start with my question.

Has anyone got the remote working with a Origen AE S21T case?

I'm getting conflicting info from Logitech, say yes this device is in our data base, but when I add it to one of my activities it doesn't work.

All I really want it to do is turn on the PC

Any ideas?

Thanks
Do you have another remote that can turn on your PC? I don't know anything about that particular case, but in general it's impossible to turn on a PC from a remote because there is no power going to the USB or IR input to see the command. Generally, you'll want to send sleep and wake commands so the PC is at least alive enough to sense the commands. If, on the other hand, you have some external device that's remote controlled that cuts the power to your PC, that's a different story. I suggest you start by trying to get sleep/wake working by remote, then evaluate whether you really want to power your PC down entirely. I can't imagine why that would be necessary.

Hi, to all those who helped me make sure I was picking up the correct battery for my 1100.

I wasn't sure if the batteries that I was looking at on the Internet were correct. You helped me find the right one.

thanks
