I'll have to talk to my connection at SCEA.

This message will self destruct in...

bassmonkey is right. It does ask if you are in the industry, but it specifically states it doesn't disqualify you from being accepted.

I don't have an access code. I got all that info from the link I provided.

I think to qualify as working in the industry he would need to be getting paid. So far they are in the hole 1/4 of a game each.

Anyone ever think the questions are trying to get those who aren't long term gamers, who don't have the best internet connections and setups, the best HDTV and surround systems. I know it would seem they are asking those questions because they want the most serious hardcore gamers and gadget freaks to participate, but maybe it is more than that. Maybe they ask those questions to get the uninterested/less equipped involved to see how they play and how their less than equipment will fare in the beta to help SOny improve it for all. It isn't like I haven't given Sony that info or they don't know who I am or what I have. I must have answered those same questions a half dozen times or more now. Then again they could just use it for each and every time they want it and then discard it.

LOL. I guess I miss-read and thought you were saying that they might ONLY pick the people with less than ideal setups.

I didn't get the email, but some issue of Qore will probably have an invite. That's how Qore rolls.
Is there a place on the form for me to say "I'm a friend of a friend that works at Zipper"?

Qore for the win

I agree, I think ZIpper's verbiage in the registration form suggest, at least to me that they are looking for a wide range of users to test the waters...so to speak.

Does anyone know when the first wave of beta testers are suppose to be notified? I'd definitely like to get inn on this beta!

I'm not sure how good this will be, if its a lagfest with PS2 graphics, its gonna flop like a pancake.

Well that's what it looks like right now, so I guess they better get their **** together before January!
All the realtime demos of the game running with a full room of players I've seen have had neither lag nor PS2 graphics.
yeah but lets be real, there is a great possiblity of lag when this game launches, you can't take what you have seen as proof the game won't have lag.. i am hoping it doesn't but when some 16 player games lag, i am going to be a little wary about 256 game..
if this game is laggy there will be 26 threads started on launch day in this forum all with almost the same title

You forgot to say that 5 of them will be made by the same idiot user, and 17 of the users won't even have a PS3.

Yes, there's going to be instances of lag. COD4 still has lag issues every now and then.

The question is if the netcode is going to be robust enough to handle it properly, and only penalize the person lagging.
