what there is now is in the AV Navigator disc. What used to be the separate Advanced MCACC PC Software is now on the disc for these newer models. It connects via LAN to the receiver, not USB or RS-232 (the good old old days of null modem cables
what I see on the disc is on the left side nav bar, an icon button for launching the Advanced MCACC software. when launched, the MCACC software will try to connect to the receiver if it's on, and there are radio buttons for downloading the data, etc. I do remember that when I setup my SC-68, I downloaded the MCACC file, through the MCACC software that came on the disc, to my PC as a ".mcacc" file which is not a normal MS Office or Windows file. you can also use a Windows menu bar for File Open and the software GUI can open any saved ".mcacc" or ".csv" file on your PC, display all the parameters in a graphical form, exactly like it did years ago from the Elite VSX to the earlier SC models, like yours. the new software can open & display the older .csv excel files that you & I remember for earlier models.
I do not see any way to upload this file or any other file back to the receiver. so this is NOT a true configuration file unless another program for custom installers also uses it. there is a Pioneer setup program for custom installers named "2012 PC Setup for Receivers" that can be used to setup a receiver remotely over the internet. you can download it from Pioneer's Custom Install pages BUT you need a username & password supplied by Pioneer to use it. I know, because I have downloaded it, installed it and tried to use it
. I have no idea what credentials Pioneer would require to give you the access to it, but I imagine they will require the caller to work for an authorized dealer, CI, or B&M store (BB-Magnolia?) to get it.
since I can't use the software, I can't tell you all exactly how it works or if it can save a client's data as an uploadable file. but in the zip file that contains the program is an operating manual & I will look through it to see if the sottware can do what Paul Atreides - muaddib
would like to do. but unless he can convince Pioneer to give him a CI username, it won't do any good. but stay tuned, at least we'll know if it can do it. will post later tonight or tomorrow morning.
the Advanced MCACC software is just a pretty interface for the data in the .mcacc or .csv file, no different than what it's always been
is more appropriate. it won't upload a file TO the receiver. no such capability exists in it or on the AV Navigator disc.Edited by ss9001 - 10/29/13 at 3:44pm
