Not in singapore....

US is a different story, I got offered that price..... I bought the F112, which I love.

I should be getting my first audition of the Ultra13, and I'm excited....
That and the Salk HT2's

i am considering between these 2 subs. it seems to me that the svs no longer has the problem of looking uglier. in fact the newest svs pb13-ultra looks beautiful to me in oak. it is no longer gynormous compared to the fathom 113. and it has a new amp. it does seem to be quite inconvenient to get to the controls on the svs, which now are not only on the back, but have to be accessed through a tiny lcd screen. i have a large listening room - around 7000 cu ft, which i understand biases towards the svs. the fathom does not seem to be upgraded. so a used fathom would be the latest model. a used fathom 113 is only a few hundred dollars more than a new model svs pb 113-ultra. has anyone bought the latest pb13-ultra (summer, 2010)? if so, could you please comment on why you chose it and why you prefered it over the fathom. if you bought a fathom recently, could you please comment why? thanks

I thought I would bring this thread back to life again! I am in the same situation, ordered up the F113 now dithering that I might be wasting my money! I already have a PB13 Ultra and I have sanded it it down to natural oak! I am thinking maybe I should keep the Ultra and get it spray painted to suit my room.

I'm mostly a movie man and absolutely love the Ultra, my friend bought the F112 and it is stunning, it gives out a lot more midd bass punch which I like, it doesn't dig as deep as the 13 Ultra, I was hoping the 113 would hit the lows like the Ultra, now after reading this thread I am not so sure.

Thoughts welcome?

Hey smile.gif

How much is the F113? Could you get another PB13 Ultra instead?

Going from what I've read the JLs are awesome, but are they ££££ more awesome...?!

I think you should wait for the F113 to arrive and then test it at home - if you're not keen then I'm sure you will find a buyer for it!

For me as the owner of SVS PB-13 Ultra, I think JL F113 is a little better. It has a little more punchy bass
If asked if JL 113 is worth paying double the price.. I would say "no" ... You'd get better / tangible bass by bringing in another PB-13 ultra.
it definitely will rock your house.

After living with the F113 for a few weeks, I would say the JL is on another planet against the PB13 Ultra, the Ultra is a great sub at an Incredible price, my opinion is that the F113 brings a lot more to the party, it's more musical, tighter, and more punchier, it also digs around about the same as the PB13 Ultra.

Is the JL worth twice as much as the SVS, Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, that's a difficult one! If you where able to pick up an JL for say $600 / $800 more than an Ultra then I would say its a no brainier. That's what I have done and I won't be going back to the Ultra.
