Hello,
I have just finished building a MythTv box and am overall happy with the progress. I am fairly experienced with Linux,
but more on the command line and programming levels. I first tried to use Fedora 10 with the MythTv software set up by hand. After encountering numerous problems I
switched to the newest version of Mythbuntu. This fixed almost all
of my problems, except one, I can hear the TV audio even when not in "Watch TV".
My system is using a pcHDTV HD-5500 combination NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner card. I have analog
cable and am only using the analog tuner currently. To get audio when in analog mode a pigtail is connected from the card to
the line-in on the motherboard. I then have the speaker-out connected to the
TV. The problem is that I can hear the audio of whatever
channel I was watching (or static if the card is not tuned to a channel)
even when MythTv is in the main menu (i.e. not recording or watching live TV). Has anyone else encountered this problem before?
