Hey Everyone,
I would like to propose a challenge. I am curious to know what people would recommend for my 5.1 set up considering my criteria. So far I have demo'd Mirage NanoSat, Def tech ProCinema 600's, SpeakerCraft AIM8-Threes, and A pair of B&W 685's. for Subs mainly Mirage, Velodyne, Def Tech. I liked the B&W the best of the group and they were obviously the most money. I did like the NanoSats as well for HT.
So here is the criteria.
The room is a open floor plan with the kitchen dining and living all about 30x30 total. Listening area is about 12x12. ceilings are 9'
HT/TV 75% of listening
Music - Jazz/Rock mainly 25% - probably more once I have a nice set up.
Here is what I need
Fronts - In Ceiling or Smaller Bookshelf - 300-500$ per pair
Rears - In Ceiling only - 200-300$ pair
Center Channel - Best Bang for the Buck try to keep it under $400
Sub - Smaller the better without compromising too much $300-400
Thanks for the input, hopefully I can stir some good debate.
