pioneer 5070 and blue ray

i was wondering if i would be able to get a good pic with a blue ray player and my pioneer 5070. it only has 720p or 1080i but says it has the Ability to Accept a 1080p/24Hz Signal?

bluray should look pretty darn good on your 5070. it will display at 768p and should look just fine.

For a 720p native resolution display you will see the same kind of improvements regarding the image your PDP renders w/Blu-ray disc versus DVD, as you have experienced with HD versus SD broadcast/cable/satellite content.

I have both a HD A2 and a BD300 connected. Both looks great. You have a awesome unit. Enjoy!

I have 5070 and BD via PS3 (output 24fps 1080p) and it looks fantastic.

Hi,

I had a question about this farther down, but didn't get much response. I have a 6070 and a Panny BD 35K blu-ray player. I have tried the 1080p/24fps option, and my 6070 doesn't display anything.

Right now I have the Panny set at 720p output. I thought if the bly-ray discs are encoded in 1080p, I figured it would be better to not interlace it then de-interlace the signal in the set. If 1080p/24fps doesn't work, would 1080i be better?
