Movie Palace - Im a TK Wannabee!

Being in my late 20s i know i still have alot to learn. I would love to be a premier home theater designer.Theo Kalomirakis is my role model. Everytime i see a new theater he has created i stand in awe.

Well i am NO Theo, but I have tried to create a home theater that seems to take you back in time to the movie palaces of the 30's and 40's.

Anyways, a little about the room! I have added only my house. It consist of closing in a covered porch and making it into a sunroom and adding a new 16' wide by 25' deep theater. The ceing height starts at 10' at the back of the room, which matches the rest of the house. The room steps down 2 times with an 18" drop for each. The ceiling in the front is 13' high.

I am installing a 14' wide 2.40:1 SMX screen. I am using a DP Titan Ref 1080P projector with the Theater Scope Premier package (ISCO III lens with auto sled). The front speakers are RBH Signature T-2P and T-1 center. The 6 surround speakers are RBH SI-760. The equipment currently is a Denon 3808CI with Anthem amps. I have ordered the new Anthem AVM50V but am still waiting on it.

Seating is 12' to front row. 18' to second row. 24' to third row.

Was a covered back porch. The fireplace was originally one sided for the family room. Removed it and installed a doubled sided one.

Beautiful work and it seems that you are well on your way. The thing I have noticed with most of TK's theaters is that they are themed, not to mention well, well, well funded, and just seem to be kind of one step beyond. Like the floating ceiling on the Apollo. However, while I admire his work I am sometimes less than impressed with the overall design. Some of them just don't inspire and are not to my taste. But to each his own.

BTW, you have to give us an equipment list...along with some more pics!!!
