Race pro

It looks like this is coming out next month. Anyone picking it up. I guess Sim Bin dumped the GTR monkier for Race Pro. Ive been wondering what happened to GTR as I have not hear anything about it since being anounced a few years ago. Being a big fan of the PC versions, I wonder how this one will transfer to the 360/controller. The screens look great. This could push me over the edge to get a 360 wheel but I dont know, I dont think I can justify having a superior wheel (logitech force pro for ps2/ps3) with stand, just to get that bulky MS wheel with no compatible stand. If only it was coming out for PS3

It looks interesting, I'm just hoping they have a demo that'll help me figure if I should pick it up. The weather effects intrigue me. Here's a 2 page preview - not great - but something... http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/2183/Race-Pro/p1/

It's not going to win any beauty awards, and that replay camera is def old-school when compared to the ones in current games like GRID, but hey, if the game feels good when you drive it I'll pick it up.

I'm hoping that it is going to be great.

I'm not one to care too much about the graphics as long as the cars drive and feel good.

I didn't care for the way GRID felt. The cars were just...off.

I'm all over this one! It sounds like it will drive very much like the PC version, at least if you have it set to hardcore mode. It can reportedly be scaled back to deliver the arcade experience that more consolers seem to prefer, but it's nice to know that at last we have a racing/driving simulation with realistic physics and a full cockpit view.

I'd probably buy this if I can use my G25 with it. I do realize I could play their PC sims with it, too, but this would be cool.

That's the thing, no logitexh true ffb wheel is supported by microsoft!!! Your stuck with the ms wheel or "axial" feed back wheels, uugh

I like how they mapped every deformation in the track! I also like that the game will be 40 bucks (supposedly)

Yes indeed... and let's hope that the car handling is as believable affected by the track topography as the PC verion of Race 07, at least in hardcore mode!

Are you serious? $40!? That would help get a lot of people off the fence if that's the case. This is my most highly anticiptated XBox 360 game since Tiger Woods 09, and will probably remain that way until the release of NCAA Football 2010.

This will give the game a much more vibrant environment. It will certainly dilute the "been there - done that" feeling that I get from most racing games.

There's a sweet Fanatec Porche 911 wheel that has force-feedback. It will set you back $500 though.

If this game has good netcode it'll be awesome. A bunch of my buddies at work will be buying it, so I might as well pick it up too.

I already have GTR 2 , GTR Evolution, and Race 07 for PC.... but this will be fun for online modes.

If you've never played GTR games you're in for a treat the first time you round a corner and the sun blinds you at 130mph exiting a turn. Good stuff.

I did hear that they removed the percentage sliders in favor of Easy, Medium, Hard style radio buttons... if that is true - WEAK.

Does anybody know if they're planning a demo? It looks like it may be too dull for me, like Forza.

Yea if your looking for glitz and forza 2 bored you, this one will be even worse ha ha. Its straight racing for hardcore racing fans imo.
It's not the glitz. It was the pace.

aaah, well if you have a wheel thats pc compatible check out the GTR2 demo on PC and youll have a good idea of pacing.

Several media sources said they were planning a demo for late January release; obviously that hasn't happened, but I think we'll see one by the end of this week.

Still on the fence for this title. A demo would be nice.
If a bunch of people on here buy it and plan to race, i'd be in
post #23 of 318
I'm planning to get this, but the reviews so far haven't been glowing.
oh snap no they haven't. See, this always happens. i find a good value for a decent looking game and somebody pees on my potato chips

Man I am kinda dissapointed that xbox magazine gave it a 6. They knocked it for lack of presentation in career mode, and graphics. This game is a SIM racer. It is not meant to be fancy. They put most of the effort into physics. That is where its at to me. I don't even care if it looks worse if you can have more cars on the track, or it runs smoother or, ok i'm done just ranting here.
What a bunch of chumps. It sounds like the UK version of xbox magazine got it right sure the game is not perfect so give it a decent score for what it is trying to be and does well. A SIM RACER.
Sounds like we were expecting no? Plays exceedingly well as a sim, looks like donkey droppings. Now if someone's immersion depends on graphical fidelity they're not going to be happy. And they shouldn't be. It's a shame we can't have both on this title, but what can ya do? The core driving experience is the main selling point and works as advertised.
Will probably be buying, need a good racing game and Forza did not do it for me.

A demo was supposed to be out by the end of January. I'm sure one is coming and I'd be surprised if it isn't out by the end of next week.

$39.99 makes this a must buy for me. I have hopes that the online community will be those who appreciate racing and don't play it like GTA IV (or the people who fire up Forza cause it came bundled with their system and wreck everyone out at the first corner).
