Volume Control Stuck on Denon 4308 HELP

Please Advise, I have a denon 4308 and for some strange reason the volume maxes out everytime I turn the receiver on......and when I try to turn the vol. down it goes right back up to max again......I've tried the hard reset and it continues to do the same thing......the only way I can keep it from maxing out is to set the vol. at one of the presets. And even then if I turn it down from that point it goes back to 20dbsPlease Help
