No ,I didn't tell that he was a bad villian for all films but The PUNISHER,I thought if he was more tough than this it would be better.Like Steven Seagal movies, all the head of the bad side were too easy to cope with then the audiences became bored,For now where is the new movie of him,not sent to dvd for the first released without theaters showing.

Well for $9.99 can't go wrong!

My UK version shipped today. Released by Sony, BD-50 with TrueHD. It's the theatrical cut as far as I know. I gave away my horrid Lionsgate version already in preparation.
I can't wait to hear your comparison, I can't imagine it'll be worse than the Lionsgate version, hopefully a ton better.

I'm sure you noticed this thread is for a new BD release by a different studio.

Any update on the AUSTRALIAN BD and the UK BD?

Are they the longer cut and what are the PQ, AQ and extras like ?
Still waiting on mine. I was hoping to have it in my mailbox on Tuesday. This is probably the slowest an order from Amazon.co.uk has taken for me yet. Fingers crossed to get it before the weekend!

Now, I want to see The Punisher War Zone, want to know why many said this one with a bad reputation.

oh my bad.. I didn't notice they were talking about a REMASTERED version as opposed to just EXTENDED version.

I can confirm that the Australian BLU-RAY version is the 123min theatrical version and NOT the extended cut as many local sites have advertised...

The aussie version includes Dolby TrueHD "51ex" tracks in english, french and spanish track along with an audio commentary and several featurettes.

Then it is most likely exactly the same as the UK disc....as those specs were on the UK disc too.

My UK disc just came in. It's been a while since I owned the Lionsgate US release but there are definitely some issues with this transfer -- loud chroma noise during the early scenes on the beach with Tom Jane and his family, so bad it almost makes you wonder if there wasn't something wrong with the print itself. The rest of it looks pretty good, but the movie is so dark looking it's hard to gauge it.

On the plus side, TrueHD audio and all the extras from the first DVD (commentary, deleted scenes, the alternate opening, featurettes) do make this an upgrade on the US disc, but I'm not sure the transfer is a huge improvement. I'll leave that for someone to do an A/B comparison with the US release.

Thanks for the update. I can't believe those sites' information providers are perpetuating such a blatant falsity about this release.

I don't even know what you mean. If this turned out to be an extended version, it would, by definition, be a different master, since there was no extended version on the US Lionsgate disc.

Of course, we know now that it's not the extended version. But it's still likely a different transfer, if not master, since it's from a different studio and has different audio and special features.

Mate, for only one reason in DTS-HD MA 7.1 may be I can live with this like Rambo 4(John Rambo).
Ok, did not get to watch the whole thing, but skimmed through a bunch of my favorite parts. It certainly is an upgrade from the LionsGate disc, which is probably the most pathetic excuse for a BD I've ever laid my eyes on. The biggest improvement here is the TrueHD track. Only 16bit, but IMO the DTS-ES track on the US BD was kind of wimpy sounding. LFE is much stronger and tighter here, and everything just sounds so much better. The video is an AVC encode and averages 27-28 mbps. It's nothing too spectacular, probably due to the source material, but still a strong upgrade from that horrid US coaster disc. The beach massacre looked especially sharp to my eyes. I wasn't blown away, but some spots impressed me.

In terms of extras it has most if not all of the ones from the original DVD release (haven't had it for a while, so I can't remember), and the animatic alternate opening from the extended cut.

Overall, if you are a fan, you should really pick this up. Throw the Lionsgate disc in the garbage ASAP, and grab this. It's probably the best this movie can hope to look and sound for a while. I'm very happy I imported it in.
Most excellent! Where did you import yours from? I can't find it on any usual sites(just DVD Crave, but I've never ordered from there before).

And is it known if the disc works in the US PS3(I.E. menues not in PAL)?
Sony don't do PAL menus or extras.
