First off, thanks guys for all the feedback on all the forums here as it really helped my decisions on what parts to get as I've never done a home theater setup ever and I was clueless on what to get. As we all know, this is the best forum in the world for the best information/opinions.
I figured I would just go with a HITB system and be set, but that was a bad move from reading. So after a lot of research I got a Denon AVR-1611 with Polk 60's. Next month I got the CS1 center to match. Now in January to complete my system (might do 7.1 in the future) I'm looking at Polk 30's for rears. The sub was a huge issue, as the Polk Audio PSW Series PSW10 on Newegg have such great reviews, however if you hit this forums it's basically junk, which is odd, because the reviews on newegg are pretty much spot on.
So it looks like this sub is the one I'm going to get and never experienced a real sub except for my parents 5.1 10 year old $120 cheap thing they got at Sams Club which was nothing.
I have a Panasonic 50 inch 1080p plasma and just got a PS3 a few weeks ago. So my question is this: I watch a lot of TV shows and can't keep up with all of them because I don't have a DVR, so I, um, find sources to get the shows and burn it to the playstation so I can play it on my current 3.0 system.
With shows on .mp3 and audio not the best, does it overpower it? I know when I hit the audyssey with the mic and it will give me results and I can manually tweak it, but just curious of how the sub works with low quality audio?
People say that the Polk 60's have great bass, but for me that's not the case at all, even doing a DTS-MA blu-ray. 70's would be better, but if you want to build a 5.1 surround a sub is a must and reading this forum people said you should hit this sub before the center too. So I am in for a treat because I've never heard a real sub in my 29 years of life and I guess it makes the experience so much better?
Sorry for the long post, but with the Polk 60's, CS1 Center, then 30 rears, and with this sub will it be night and day? Never heard a real sub so I'm interested on how it will affect the sound quality. And I know true 7.1 is rare only with some PS3 games and some Blu-Ray, but of course my AVR can matrix it. I read sooooooo many threads, but is 7.1 worth getting or get a decent 5.1 setup like I will have and just roll with that?
I think I'm set on buying the 30 polk (would do 40's but don't have wall mounts) and this sub, but in 2-3 weeks I'll send all of you guys tons of pics of my setup. That is the least I can do from all the great advice you guys gave me.
Happy New Year!!!!!
