Sub for Mirage Nanosats

Hello,

I have recently upgraded from an old sony HTIB setup to an onkyo 605 and 5.0 Mirage Nanosat speaker setup. I am looking for a good sub to pair with this system. I was looking at the Mirage s-10 but am interested in other suggestions. Budget $400-$500. Room 25'x17' w/ cathedral ceilings (I know the nanosats may struggle but needed them to be smaller than book shelf). 100% movies/cable.

Thanks for any help.

edit* I would also be willing to make my own sub if that would be a significant upgrade from what can be bought in my price range.

I think in your price range, you can go with any of the usual subs recommended: eD, SVS, Hsu, Outlaw, etc. Getting them to match with the Nanosats is the key in calibration, but a quality sub will round them out, even if it is huge. Another sub I've been interested in taking a look at is the Martin Logan Dynamo- there are very few sealed subs I've found in that price range, and in my experience with the SVS PB10 and SB12+, sealed was easier to match well with small speakers. YMMV.

Thanks Pat. I really don't like the small speakers but some women can't be reasoned with.
