24/96 Lossless Streamer?

I am looking for a device to stream 24/96 or 24/192 audio files. Content will be stored on a NAS in lossless format, preferably FLAC. I am planning to use an outboard audiophile DAC.

I bought a Helios X5000 because it supported FLAC, 24/96, and had audiophile quality components. It also could stream movies and pictures. In addition, it had a DVD drive for disk-based play and wireless. Helios appears to out of business, so I don't want to spend time getting this player setup.

I know that the Transporter and Linn devices will meet my audio requirements, but they are outside my price range.

What is available?

Just food for thought, I don't think you would want/need an external dac with either of those devices. In particular, the Transporter has an excellent dac, that can also accept inputs and decode other devices. My point being is if you were looking at like a $500 player, and planning on spending like another $1k on a dac, a $1500 Transporter might be just what the doctor ordered.

That's a good point, but I am planning on building my own DIY DAC for less.

The Buffalo DAC from Twisted Pear Audio (http://www.twistedpearaudio.com/digital/buffalo.aspx) is $350 and may possibly be one of the best available. It uses the new ESS Sabre8 9008 chip. Reviews on the DIY Audio forum are impressive.
