Then maybe the wrong HOST was sent with the Lumis!?

I don't recall if the HOSt even has a serial number on it. I know the LUMIS does..

I thought since you are a cage fighter either flattening his nose a bit or an arm bar would have simply all been in a days work.

I'm really bumbed about having to miss CEDIA again.On labor day I got an email that said that I really needed to attend the the seminar that was being sponsored by my professional study group on both Friday and Saturday. I had intended to fly out of Detroit Friday evening. It ended up being very very smart professionally and it did open up the afternoon Saturday. I went to the Michigan /Notre Dame game with my son.This was the best football game I've ever seen along with a perfect day and the Big House now is so loud with the new sky boxes surrounding it that it was unbelievable. The great game helped soften the disappointment of not being able to get to CEDIA a bit.

Okay you two, rub it in! I do agree however, even though we (ND) lost, it was a great game. Your young quarterback was looking very good, should have a great future at M.

Given State's play yesterday I don't think M will have any problem this year and we play them at home next Saturday, but you can never take them lightly against either M or ND.

I'll be at ND for the USC and BC games, should be fun.

Incredible day really. My son had a friend along ,he had never been to a college game. After I said "Colton what did you think ?" He said it was a lot of fun. I think he just had no clue as to the level of experience he had just had . I just could not believe how loud it got at times.

That's great Art. The impact of these sort of events can sometimes take awhile to sink in, but it is the kind of thing he'll likely repeat to his children someday. "I remember when my friends Dad took me to the Michigan Notre Dame game....."

Yes, M Stadium is alive and well! (Too bad for us).

Have you tried unplugging the HOST and Lumis from the wall as a hard reboot?

Just so you know this isn't about rubbing it in ,it's just that, literally ,that was such an experience that Matt (my adult buddy) and I were out of words.

No worries! It's all in fun anyway and I can certainly appreciate a great game, win or lose. I was at the ND/USC game several years ago at ND when it came down to a USC touchdown with no time left on the clock. We thought the play prior (when we stopped them) was the end of the game. We then had to endure the reality that the ball had actually gone out of bounds with a couple of seconds left on the clock. USC had only one play, and they got it in for the win.

While the loss wasn't fun, it was the best college football game I'd ever attended, and in the end, that's what it's all about for me.

I hope Michigan goes on to do good things this season, and in the future.

Good point. But since the LUMIS is connected to the HOST via fiber optic cables, the DENON would have to be far, far from the HOST... Is your Denon far away from the HOST? If so, move it next to it and try a short HDMI cable (even 6 ft) if you could. The Denon may have issues with long distances.

With HDMI, I certainly wouldn't doubt the need to check with even a 3 ft cord.

Good suggestion.

All three cables are 2-3' and all top of the line, brand new and from different manufactures.

Well.... I am out of suggestions...

Time for SIM2 technical support.

Perhaps one last thing to try... Reload the latest HOST software (or a previous software). It is not difficult to do. Maybe a glitch?

Let us know what happens..

I reloaded the software a few days ago and nothing was changed. Sim2 is coming to my theater on Wednesday. He's bringing a Lumis (the one without a HOST) and we will see what happens. I'll keep you posted. Thanks.

No, Los Angeles. Don't get too excited. They have been here before. Tried to blame it on the bd player that time but the problem persisted. It turned out to be their projector with the home owner (me) having to do the diagnoses. I'm hoping this time will be better. I've got the manager coming up and he seems to know what he's doing. Besides, I love the image the Lumis produces. I really want it to work.

Seems like my Lumis broke....
I am getting purple colors in darker scenes (see attached shot from Kill Bill where the sky looks weird purple).
For example in Gladiator opening war scene the armor of all soldiers looks purple.
The FBI Screen in the movies looks light blue or almost purple instead of the darker light blue.
I have tested this problem on both HD DVD and Blu Ray Player and I have taken the Radiance out of the loop and tested this problem.
Has anyone seen this happen?

Yipes... Did you check the service menu colors? I don't know they'd change so much but worth a look. Other than that, it is likely a failure of some sort. Crap.

Ash, is it the color innacuracy only, or are you seeing sparklie out of phase pixelization also?

Bland: No change in Service menu.
Owl 1: It is color inaccuracy, no pixelization.
Just when the projector was perfectly set up.

Damn, the Sims throw a great picture, but they really need to deal with the reliability!

**On occasion, my Lumagen Radiance would do this from time to time and reseting things fixed it - sometimes for no rhyme or reason. It may simply be a software glitch.


Try and Power it off, unplug HOST / LUMIS and maybe even re-load the HOST software.


Are you still using the Lumagen?
