Buy LG Blu-ray OEM or Retail and case Q

I am putting a LG GGC-H20L in the following build and plan on using ANYDVD on the system. Does it make sense to buy the LG's retail version w/ PowerDVD 8 OEM to be able to play blu-ray discs? I am using ANYDVD will I still need to run PDVD 8 (and possibly upgrade to Ultra from OEM) for BD play.

Also, does anyone see a problem using a IN WIN Mt. Jade BK623 for this build?

GIGABYTE GA-E7AUM-DS2H Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Pentium E5200 2.5GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 TWIN2X4096-6400C5 (great deal $27/us after $30/us rebate)
IN WIN IW-BL631.300BLP Black Computer Case
LG Black Blu-ray/HD DVD-ROM & 16X DVD±R DVD Burner SATA Model GGC-H20L
Sony Bravia 46z4100

When I purchased my LG Blu-ray/HD-DVD combo drive from NewEgg I got the OEM version. It came with a copy of PowerDVD 7.3 It seems that both the retail and the OEM versions come with the software. The only thing missing is the box.

I use PDVD 7.X with the same drive and a lesser CPU. Works great.

There is only a diff between the LG writable drive packages other then the box. The OEM comes with PDVD and a burning suit of SW and the retail comes with the same but also a blank 25gb BD-RE. There is no diff between the OEM and retail BD only LG readers.

Well.... I just purchased the LG GGC-H20L retail @ my local frys for 99.00

It plays both Blu and HD-dvd. It came with free Cyberlink software to play both formats.

I don't own much of either movie formats, but I played them both on it w/ Cyberlink and I do-not have any issues. It is very, very quite and simple install my Win XP sp3.

It also plays and burn dvd & CD-r +/-/RW

I like the LG over my recently purchased SAMSUNG SH-S223Q; which is 2x Winner of Customer Choice Award - CD / DVD Burners from NEWEGG. Since I can compare the Samsung is much louder when playing dvd movies. The LG is like S-T-E-A-L-T-H

Oh as for the OEM vs. Retail.

OEM is just the drive (at least that's what it was when I got my samsung) no hardware / sata cable ect..ect.

The retail comes with all the goodies. I would get the retail if I was you, well...... as long as your not going to pay over $10-$20 more over OEM.

Thanks for the advice, I ended up buying the retail version of the BD player.

I also ended up ordering a InWin BK636, 12.7" x 5.5" x 10.8". We will see how the build goes (assuming they actually ship the case).

I bought my LG GGC-H20L OEM version from Newegg last month. I received the drive, a sata cable & Powerdvd 7.3 6 channel version. Plays everything I've thrown at it.
