Sounds like a power problem. Are the receiver, source and pj all on the same circuit? If not, you might want to play around with that... It could also be a grounding problem in your house, especially if it is an older house.

The house is 2 years old and the upstairs where the theater room was just done about 3 months ago... i do know the projector and the and the equipment is all on 1 circuit.. but i did the wiring for it... i made sure that those 2 out lets are on its own circuit all by itself because i knew it was going to be setup this way.. when you say grounding problem do you mean electrical wise? Where would the ground be the problem with in the outlet itself?

Also i just wanted to note it seems it only happens wheni play a HD movie threw my laptop my DVD and reg. cable TV seem to work just fine??

If it is only through your laptop it could be something in how the laptop grounds are done out of the video output.

Did you try bypassing the receiver and plugging the laptop straight into the projector? I would start there...

Laptops and receivers don't always work together. If it is the culprit, you may have to output the audio separately (not through HDMI).
