1080 Vizio vs 720 Sammy

Thread Starter
This will be my secondary tv, 32" in the office for when the SO doesnt want to watch hockey, etc. I will have it hooked to my computer for very rare gaming, but probably 95% of my time will be watching digital tv via ATT Uverse (hdmi connect).

With both of these tvs being about the same price (500-600), would you go with the better quality Samsung, or the higher res Vizio?

Vizio - VO32LFHDTV10A
Samsung - LN32A450

Thanks

Doug

Go with the sammy, better TV and better picture. If you qaren't going to hook up Blu_ray, you don't need the 1080P. Also with that same size, I don't ebelive you will see much of a different between 720 and 1080p.
Sammy all the way!!!!!!!

1080p - best resolution today even though the screen is small

Vizio has excellent products. Good quality (very comparable to Samsung) and features.

A certain B&M store has the Vizio 42" 1080p for a crazy price. If you have HD programming, go for the Vizio. If you aren't going to watch anything in HD, go for the Samsung. I just got the 42" Vizio and the picture using Blu-ray, or HD cable is awesome.

Would it not be better to get the HD one anyway to futureproof yourself?

the ones blastin the Vizio has apparently never seen this TV. It's got a fantastic picture, has very strong prof. reviews from Cnet and the likes and strong user reviews.

I get the biggest kick out these types, go and look at the TV's yourself and you be the judge, don't let people that you have never met make the decision for you especially the ones have never seen both TV's you are looking at.

I come across that attitude a lot, online and in every day life. I was one of those that poo-pooed Vizio sets too until I took the time to really look at them. A friend of mine recently got a VO32L and he loves it. After watching it for a while, I've realized they make a damn fine set. With picture quality comparable to big name brands. Right now, I'm seriously considering the VO32LF. I think they offer a really good value and in these times that's important.

Both 720p and 1080p are HD resolutions, and you really won't see any difference on a 32" display (unless your sitting 2' away). Personally I would not go the Vizio route due to concerns re: long-term reliability.

I HAVE seen Vizio's and the ones I have seen look fezzy to me versus others TVs. I also have seen pizalation aroung the edges on these.
At this time, to me, the sammy have the best pictures out there. How can you compare them to anything, let alone a Vizio.
just my 2 cents, like it or not..

^This.

More and more tv broadcast is in HD. Why would you not want the best picture quality?

Again, BOTH displays are HD, and there are no 1080p broadcasts anyway (some stations broadcast in 720p such as Fox and ESPN, and others in 1080i such as CBS).

I would go for the 1080 especially if you plan on watching any blu rays besides I don't like Samsung

Hey ,
I own an xbr 4 46" and a 55" samsung 9 series
I was lookin at some vizios the other day and they looked fine to me. Grab the vizio. There actually a good brand and dont think that they are any less quality that samsung. If you like what you see at the store get the 1080 vizio.

Cnet has a review of the VO32LF up. Both the Vizio and Sammy seem like good sets. But since the original poster mentioned he was planning to hook his computer to the TV, the higher resolution would probably be more noticeable.
