Just bought used Pio 950 - mistake?

I just bought a used Pio 950 for at B.B. It's in excellent condition. Not sure how many hours are on it. I needed a 42" tv for the bedroom. I didn't want to go any bigger. Should I have waited for the new Panasonics?

Had one and am not a fan. Unlike the current Kuros the picture on the 950 was very soft and oversaturated. Big strain on the eyes. Nothing like the current Pioneers.

I disagree with the above. The 950's are very good post calibration, and pretty close with D-Nices' settings. They are the best 42" FP to date, period.

I thought you never owned an 8G Omeletpants? So now you did?

Yes, my mistake. To be honest I always get the naming conventions wrong between the 7G and 8G series. I owned the 7G 42" for a week then traded up to the 50", then got rid of it.

Should I be concerned about the power consumption on this display? I know the new Panasoics are going to consume way less power.

is 70 dollars a year too much? Give or take on how much you watch it?
