WD TV problems with Hauppauge MPEG2?

So here's my setup right now:

Vista Business 32 bit
Hauppauge WinTV HVR 850 usb ATSC tuner
WinTV v6
WD TV HD with latest firmware

I can record and re-watch shows on my PC using WinTV.
However, the MPG files that WinTV generates won't play at all on the WD TV unit!

Using G-Spot, this is what I know about the WinTV file:
Video MPEG-2 1280x720, 59.941 frames/s.
Audio DVD LPCM

Does anyone have this sort of thing working?

I have a similar setup (but Vista Home Premium) with HVR-850 and WinTV v6, recording ATSC MPGs and I can view them on the WD TV. Strange that you're showing 59.941 frames per second. Shouldn't it be 29.97?

I typically record standard def instead of high def, but I've easily played high def files.

The problem I have with these WinTV Mpeg-2 files is that the rewind and fast forward doesn't work properly--that is, the time I rewind to is not the time it starts playing at, or, the time I fast forward to is not the time it starts playing at. Other than that, I can view the file on the WD TV.

I am recording DVB-S with Technisat Skystar. I can watch those Transportstreams but they are not in sync and showing Interlacing.
