Looking for the best 5.0 system under $400

I have been searching non-stop for the past week for replacement speakers for my aging Onkyo HTS-760 HTIB set. I had my heart set on the Energy C-300 5.0 system at wwstereo. However, I am still wracking my brains to see if there is something else out there that is comparable for preferably less money. I can't shake the feeling that there is another set out there that I missed and I will regret this purchase.

My main use is for home theater viewing. My room is about 14x18 and I have room for floor-standing speakers.

I could really just use a few suggestions on what you guys would do in this situation.

personally.

i would get the Energy system.
i feel it's the best in the price range.

+1. There are other speakers in your price range but the Energy system offers the best value for your money.

That's about the best deal for 5.0 out there now.

This Mordaunt-Short 5.1 is also worth considering (last one, may even be gone now, who knows).

Thanks for the help! I think I am ready to pull the trigger on the Energy system. Although, I am probably going to spend the extra $50 and go with this setup.

Bipoles can be difficult, you may want to consider room size, and shape before you go that route.

Well, I made the purchase a while ago. I did buy the setup with the C-R100 surrounds. I think they will work fine in my room. I can hardly wait to get this setup!
