Sweet, I always love new Halo maps. IMHO, a fine multiplayer shooter.

when are the maps coming out?

So are the Legendary Maps gonna finally be free and included in all playlists once these new maps drop.

I finally bit and bought the Legendardy pack back when it was on sale for 400pts or whatever. That was at least a month or two ago. I have played avalanche twice and ghost town once. Never even played blackout or whatever.

I really do like H3 and think it is a great game, but I can only do Team BRs on the Pit so many times. After 2600+ games I need some new maps.

Played Halo 3 for the first time yesterday in many months since CoD has been my main shooter lately and just couldn't believe how many shots it takes to kill someone. I mean I knew it takes more but wow, I really forgot how much.

I'll be getting these when Halo 3: ODST comes out (it comes with these maps and the ones they are releasing in the summer).

standard edition msrp = $60
super awesome edition msrp = $80

you could argue that you're paying $10 for the maps, and $10 for the collectors edition, but if the collectors edition doesn't interest you, you're effectively paying $20 for the maps... and assuming they'll be 800 pts, double the price of what they'll be on the marketplace.


when the odst maps are out, all the previous ones will be free anyway, assuming they follow the same model they've been following since release.

buying ODST does get you all maps, but up until that point all maps are already free, except for the mythic pack (legendary currently isnt free, but should be @ mythic release)

Ah yes! I actually forgot about swat even though that's all I was playing the last time I played. That's the only way to play the game IMO.

I've actually switched over to Halo after being a heavy (~10 days) COD4 player and being let down by Epic and Gears 2. I didn't like it at first but it has grown on me. I'm just annoyed at the fact that Bungie goes out of their way to push people to buy the DLC by altering/limiting play lists and such.

they're also one of the only developers offering EVERY dlc they have for free except the most current one.

I finally bought the legendary map pack. I was waiting for free. This time I'll just shell out my money. To many friends wanted to play team swat and I missed out. This time I won't be so stubborn. So they get my 10$. Big woop.

Are the old maps free yet?

So am I hearing this correctly? If you purchased Halo Wars CE you can download the Mythic Maps next week... but if you don't want to buy that game you'll need to wait till spring to buy and play the mythic maps?

I'd understand maybe 1-2 weeks early to help sell more Halo Wars CE games... but the current way makes us waits months. Makes me not want to buy either

spring is less than a month away.... halo wars comes out march 3rd, i bet they give them 2-3 weeks "exclusive" map access.

hell, i think i'm gonna buy the CE and sell the maps on ebay for 50 bucks.

My stubborness cost me plenty of good games. So I will bend over for MS next time. 10$ installments for a game I enjoy doesn't sound all that horrible.

no kidding, i'd rather spend $100 total on a game that i can get 1000 hours out of than to spend $60 on most games that i get 10-14 hours out of.
