I would like to ask for your help. I have a pretty nice gear, Revel Loudspeakers, Parasound A52 amp, a Parasound C2 processor, and a Denon BD3800 Bluray player with a Velodyne DD-15, with its own room corrention.
My problem is, that my Parasound C2 is having some PowerSupply issues, and it needs to be serviced. I don't know the costs yet, but it could be that it will cost a few hundred $... And I got to thinking, what if I buy an AV7005 instead? How good is the sound quality, when you compare it to preamps/processors like my current Parasound C2, which was retailing for 5-6 grand back then ?!
I know I would like features like Airplay, and stuff like that, but sound quality is my biggest concern.
Remember, now the Denon 3800 does all the decoding, the Parasound acts just like a Pre with the 7.1 Mch inputs, and the Velodyne does its bass correction. And I use an Onkyo full digital PCM transport for my ipod, which is handled by the DAC's in the C2 through a coax cable.
Would audyssey improve my sound a lot, if the velodyne is already doing some room correction, and should I use the analog mch in, or HDMI PCM, or let the Marantz do all the decoding? Which way is the sound quality the best? (Is the Marantz able to use audyssey when using Mch analog input? )
Is the decoding better when using the Marantz, or the Denon 3800 bluray player?
Has anyone experience regarding these equipments?
By the way, it's a funny thing that I see a lot of "friends" from the Revel Owners thread here (4DHD, bthrb4u, etc.) on such a big forum, I think we like the same gear... :P
Thanks for the answer in advance
