I opted for the silver Z-dac, 1-1/2 lead time over the in stock black. As mentioned the black Z-dac has the mounting fins.

I think I found the same website, says it will be released before the spring of 2013 and available in silver and matte black. Sweet looking unit!

Thanks for posting the pic. Yeah, I found these images on the net too along with detailed pics of the back. Extensive connectivity. The cool black notwithstanding, I think the layout of the controls looks great. Not as busy as the 2100 yet not as minimalist as the P3. Gettin' excited about this one!

Thank you Kal but the information that I found on the web (including pictures) suggested that this is supposed to be a 2ch Pre similiar to the 2100?. Do you have other information? I am looking for a HDMI HD Pre/Processor which will bitstream blu-ray audio. Is there something in the oven?

edit: Ok reading the thread to the end, I guess it was a confusion regarding terminology I mean blu-ray HD audio and not 2ch HD audio.

I'd have bought both my A21 and P7 in black if they'd been available a year or so ago. Not that the silver looks shabby, just have always preferred black components.

Parasound should name that color "Stealth Black" for obvious reasons.

I dont know, because I haven't seen them in person, but the original silver looks way better in my opinion, it has some elegance, prestige, which this black colour just doesn't seem to have.

I read your review of the A31 in your 'Music In The Round' last year - looks like my next amp to replace my aging HCA's. I have been lusting after the JC1's but alas, my budget, my space, and my back cannot handle 3 of them.

The A21 is big and impressive. The thing weighs 60 lbs!

I just recently upgraded from an HCA1205a to the Halo A-31.

You will be blown away at the sonic improvement!

Well, it looks as though my Halo family is finally nearing completion. I just purchased an A-51 to go with the A-31 that is fed by the C-2 controller.

Haven't figured what to use the extra channel for......... maybe hook my older HSU sub and ditch the supplied HSU external amplifier or maybe run two PSB Stratus Silvers for my center channel

Not really a good idea to run dual centers, at least not side-by-side. don't know what size screen you have.

Yeah, I've heard the same. The screen is a 60" and I've custom built a stand that can accomodate two Stratus Silver speakers with about 8" between 'em. I might, just for fun, give it a try.

I did experiment with using two centers years ago. But I placed one below the screen and one above. Which projected the sound to the middle of my 65". And moving left/right I did not get any movement of the dialog or comb filtering. Now standing up or sitting down did move the sound. But once seated all was good.

I tried it too but opted for a bigger amp instead to drive only 1 center speaker. Chris at Audyssey is pretty strong against using 2 center channel speakers due to comb filter issues (as 4DHD mentioned).

I personally didn't notice any issues when I was running 2 centers but when I went to the bigger amp I noticed a big difference. I am now thinking about getting an identical speaker to my front l/r speakers to use as a center. Been looking on eBay and Audiogon but hard to find 1 speaker. I am happy with it the way it is but you know how this hobby is..................Always seeking nirvana.

What kind of speakers and how big of an amp?

Infinity Prelude MTS speaker. Was powering it with a New Classic 2125 until I swapped some amps around and wound up with an HCA1500a powering it now. It is a 4 ohm speaker so I wasn't comfortable bridging either amp. After noticing the difference this swap made, I am now looking into an A31 or taking out a 2nd mortgage on my house to get a trifecta of JC1's.

I hear that! I too am trying to secure another PSB Stratus Gold to match my Gold FL/FR. The Stratus Silver tower I am currently using is WAY better than the matching Stratus centers I've tried but a matching Gold would be perfection.

Boy isn't that the truth. I feel that with my recent acquisition of the A-51 I am getting real close to finalizing my system with a minor purchase "tweak" here and there as I just mentioned with the matching center.

I keep having to justify with my chief finacial officer (read, Wife) that I don't spend money on anything else so just enjoy the fact that I'm home instead of Bar hopping. LOL

Reading on the New Classic series, I never figured they were are good as the old HCA series.
Although, I can tell no difference between my HK Citation 19 and my HCA2205A. So I use the 19 to power my mains.
And I really like having the Halo P7 as my pre.

And having auditioned the Prelude MTS, I can say you have a find set of speakers.
Infinity has not made a speaker as good since.

Got my 2 A23s today. Picture came out crappy, but its better than nothing. These things are beautiful.

You and me both! I'm afraid of taking a picture of my new setup. I've got everything from my computer, xbox, router, modem, dac, headphone amp, gaming headphone amp, computer, receiver, bluray player, tv and kinect all in the same area. Not to mention some of these have ethernet cables too!

That's funny. Even worse for me is I just had to completely clear it out to add a shelf to the rack for the additional amps....and after cleaning everything and basically starting over, its still a mess....just not a tangled up mess anymore.

I ordered one of these. It should be here next week. I opted for the black since it matches my other Parasound gear.

I was just reading about the new Parasound CD1 player. It spins the discs at 4x the speed of regular CD players.
They are saying we have never heard how good CDs can really sound until we hear them on the CD1.
I looked on AA but they do not have it yet...so no telling how much the CD1 will be selling for.

i believe they have it at audio advisor and it's around $4200 i'll look real quick

well they don't have it on their website but i do know i saw it in the latest issue they sent me in the mail.
found it, it's $4500

I wonder how much better it would sound compared to something like the Oppo BDP105. Do you think it would be worth the additional $3300.00 bucks? For an extra grand you can take the 105 and have Modwright fix it up for ya. Now we're down to a $2300.00 difference.
Of course that is a question that packs allot of personal variables such as how good is your hearing and do you have allot of expendable cash on hand.
At any rate, it sounds like the CD-1 is going to be a world class player.
