As far as power conditioners go..mine also made a difference and also peace of mind, and cable management..not everybody hears the same!.. Like I said,I am a very critical listener,I would not waste my time or money on something that would not benefit my system..this is getting out ta hand here...if you do not believe, then that's OK don't..I used to have a rotel CD player that was very sensitive, every time I opened the fridge or the dryer switched cycles I would get a click from my speakers when listening to a CD..the Furman elite power conditioner put a stop to that, and gave all my components super clean power..dead silent backgrounds!.. We all have our believes..I know what I like and what my ears like, get a copy of music direct and look at the test for shuyanta power cords and the proof that power cords do make a improvement..or don't..all I know is that I'm in audio bliss..and that is all that matters..now let's just enjoy this hobby and respect each others opinions..fer crying out loud!
You inferred I did not have 25 years in audio...when you don't even know me or what gear I have.
And I can tell a difference between my Parasound P7 and HK AVR's pre-amp.
I've never had a problem with something on another circuit. And the only time I had a 60hz hum was in a sub, which I managed to get rid of the hum by connecting it to another outlet on the audio circuit. But it was a dedicated circuit I installed for that new room.
And I suspect if a conditioner does help in a certain case, then the circuit in question is not a dedicated one or some fault in the house wiring. Most likely the ground.
Where I live now, 20 yr old building with no ground wires at all and I have zero problems with any kind of 60 hz noise. No ground wires means no ground loop. Fortunately, living at the equator, almost zero lightning strikes, so the gear connected to no ground not a problem. I have much less problems here in Ecuador with the electricity than in NV as far a things like power surges.
Both my HCA2205A, and Citation 19 amps produce zero hum/noise, even when up close to the speakers, so no need for any kind of conditioner, which as I said made no difference, even on the video when I tried it on that dedicated circuit.
