Yes, and no. 250wpc and 250wpc, each into the same load
, would indeed mean the same current is being output. But the difference is, the Halo 250wpc into 8 Ohms
can also output, say, 400 wpc into 4 Ohms, while the New Classic 250 could only output, say, 250wpc into 4 Ohms [note I'm too lazy to look up the numbers so I'm just pulling numbers out of thin air to make my point.]
So again, that means the Halos can drive low impedance speakers to louder levels before clipping/running out of gas. That's great, but that's totally different than saying they sound better at modest levels.
