Like 4DHD, my 2 HCA amps hardly get warm to the touch and my 3 new classics are about the same.

Mine does but I guess some of that might be related to it's placement in my cabinet. It has ~2" on either side and maybe 4" on top but it does have a 3 fan array in the back of the cabinet sucking the air through. The fans are hooked to a variable voltage converter that allows me to speed up or slow down the airflow as is deemed necessary by whatever content I'm playing, ie; music gets a slow setting, raucous movies get a fast one.
It's not ideal but it's all I have to work with.
ETA; Interesting thing here is that my A-31 which sits on it's own shelf in the same cabinet with it's own set of fans hooked to the same variable voltage converter gets about half as warm as the A-51. And the A-31 is experiencing heavier demand as it drives the L/C/R channels while the A-51 drives the side and back surrounds with one channel not even being used.Edited by Torqdog - 6/30/13 at 4:10pm
