Which one is better for the money? Please dont tell me to spend more $$$ on another system? Dont mean to be an ass but I want to know which of these is better---IM A NOOB and an idiot when it comes to AUDIO period!

I'd say they're comparable. Neither really better or worse where it counts.

I'd favor the Sony over the Samsung. It has better connectivity IMO - for example, 3 HDMI inputs vs 2, 3 component video inputs vs 0. JMO
