[Note: I originally posted this in the Owners of XBR6 thread, but I feel it's more applicable as its own thread].
Hi everyone. I was interested in buying a SONY KDL-37XBR6. Then I found this little article while I was researching saying that in standby mode, this model draws 20 watts over 75% of the time, and only 1 watt the rest of the time. Somehow, it is still Energy Star rated.
Here is the original article: arstechnica . com/gadgets/news/2009/02/sony-lcd-exceeds-energy-star-power-draw-75-of-time.ars (Sorry I don't have enough posts to put in an actual link. Get rid of the spaces to access it).
Can anyone confirm or deny this? I called Sony and they said that there were no known power issues with that TV.
Does anyone know if this is true with any other models of Sony XBR6's? Or any flat panel LCD, at any size???
Thanks!
