Interesting, I guess it takes time for them to update the website links.
IIRC there was a direct link around here somewhere.
The new firmware delivered for me. I have not had the problem of not being able to play universal blue-rays. However any blue-ray that included bd-live for the opening trailers would freeze. This included almost all new rentals. I would have to turn off the bd-live before launching rented blue-rays. Also a constant annoyance has been that sd extras would freeze on almost all discs. It was definatley firmware related as the original firmware did not have the problem. It appeared at 2.08 or 2.09. The only fix was to lower the resolution to 1080i to play special features.
After the upgrade to 2.12 my recently arrived netflix blue-ray, galaxy quest, played the bd-live star trek trailer without a hitch, and the special features would play at 1080p. Yesterday, before the upgrade, neither worked on this disc. So for me the upgrade has only done good things, so far...
Also on a side note, I recently discovered that if you don't set your time and time zone correctly blockbuster online will not work. Just a tip if anyone is wanting to use that service and finds that they cannot connect to the network.
