I setup my computer via built in adapter DVI to HDMI and plugged it into HDMI input 1 on my VSX-01THX. I connected optical out from my motherboard to optical 2 input on the receiver. In the receiver menu I have these setup under DVR-1:
Digital In -- OPT-2
HDMI Input -- Input-1
Component In -- OFF
In the menu I can hear the music coming in from the computer just fine. When I exit the menu and have the computer picture up I lose sound. The receiver is showing that it is switching from digital to HDMI. I can't do HDMI from my computer for the sound, but I don't understand why this isn't working. Is there a way to keep the receiver on digital and not switch to HDMI, or is that only switching to show me the picture and I can't have both?
