Let's take a poll! We have one for CECBs that convert to analog, so let's take a poll for 1080p output converter boxes on the market for Flat Panel Monitors or HDTVs that don't have the necessary built in tuners.

You are confused.

First, this forum is for specific discussion of CECB units.

Second, the term CECB or converter box refers exclusively to units that have no HD output.

Third, there is a forum dedicated to HDTV Technical issues, including HDTV set-top-boxes (STB). It's found here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=25

Fourth, as to forum consensus for the best HDTV STB, it is, and has been for at least a few years, the Samsung DTB-H260F ($179, ATSC, Clear QAM), which can be found in this 'stuck' topic specifically for HDTV STB's: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=179095

Fifth, there is no such thing as an HDTV STB for Digital TV reception with 1080p output. 1080i & 720p are the only two options.
