ive got this multimedia HDD

http://go.iomega.com/section?SID=775...35&secid=39289

basically ive got a movie file and its mpg PAL format i think (i really dont know what format it is it just says .mpg) and when i copy it to my HDD and connect it to my tv it comes up but its an unkown format so what i do is convert the original file on my computer to the following avi, mpgII wmv and mp4 and i then transfer it back to my HDD to play on tv

avi works perfect

mpegII: it works but sound and video arnt in sync with eachother

wmv: is an unkown format as it doesnt appear in my HDD playlist on tv

mp4: the same as wmv doesnt come up, but on the link i gave you it says it supports mp4?!?

welcome to the forums robina80

That device looks interesting - it sounds like it does all the processing and outputs to TV.

What SW are you using to transcode to the different formats? Try a ffmpeg based SW and add the flag "-async 30" (without quotes) to have the audio sync with vid 30 times a second. Works great for me.
