Surrounds: QUICK, Will the Klipsch Icon series be timbre matched with my S-2s ??

I have the Klipsch Synergy F3 surround package...I need one more pair of surrounds to go 7.1. BB no longer carries the Synergy line and has replaced it with the Icon line...

Are the Icons timbre matched to my current S-2 surrounds? Or will I have to get another pair of S-2 surrounds so they match? I do want them to match so I'll pay the extra for the S-2s if need be.

For true timbre matching it would be best to stay within the same line of speakers. Also remember that direct firing monopoles are recommended for surround back speakers instead of bipoles/dipoles. You may be better off going with B-2's.

Thanks, I just think I'll order up the S-2s. I already have one pair of S-2s so to go with B-3 as surrounds it would mean a complete change-over of my surrounds.

What I was getting at is that the recommendation is to use the S-2's as surrounds (on the sides) and the B-2's for surround backs in a 7.1 system. That's according to the THX recommendations found here. Of course you're free to do whatever you want. I doubt the S-2's would sound bad, and the bipoles are easier to mount on the wall IMO.
