I am buying a set of mirage nanosats and am looking for a receiver to go with them. I want HDMI upconversion for sure. I do not need 7.1. I am living in an apartment but will be in a house before long, so I know I will upgrade the speakers eventually but would love to buy the better receiver now. I have yet to buy a blu ray so I might not need the HD decoding. Should I buy a receiver that does the decoding because it might be needed in the future? I am looking at Yamaha/Onkyo/The new high gloss Sony. What do you guys think?

the brand new Yamaha V665 a/v receiver seems to do it all. Purchasing any a/v receiver, other than the most cost effective entry level, should include the ability to decode the lossless HD codecs. A receiver is a major purchase and should at least handle your projected needs for 10 years or more....and your speakers will last even longer.

Will the RX-V565 do hdmi upscaling? Also what do you guys think about the new Sony DN1000? I'm in no rush. Should I wait for the new Onkyo 607?

Which of the previous three do you think? I'm not worried about having lots of power.
