PH-42PZ80U...Picture in refresh mode?

Every so often, every 4-6 minutes a message keeps appearing on my screen that says "Picture in refresh mode Going to reset setting". Any idea why this keeps happening? I just got the TV(Th-42PZ80U) yesterday. Don't know if this has anything to do with or not, but it was a floor model.

Or more likely, it was a return. I wonder if a previous owner got into the service menu to fiddle around, accidentally screwed something up that causes this message, then just returned the TV? I've never heard of such a thing happening. If you bought it at BB, they're notorious for lying about the history of their "floor models".

If you don't get any useful answers here, maybe ask the guys in the Calibration forum if it's something that can be corrected in the service menu.

Roadrunner1, sound like it maybe in "store mode".
If your set is being reset every 4 - 6 minutes, then you are in "store mode", here are the steps to get to the option of "home" or "store" mode.

- Hold Down the {Vol -} button on the TV
- Hold {Menu} on the remote until information appears on the screen.
- Turn off the TV (hold power button on TV down for approx 2 seconds)
- Unplug the power on the TV for 1 minute.
*Keep in mind this will reset your TV settings.

When you turn it back on the option to select "Store" and "Home" mode should be presented, then select "Home" mode.

Roadrunner1 after you get it to "Home" mode here are the steps to check hours the set has been on.

1. Enter Service Menu (Hold Vol. - down on the TV while pressing the INFO button on the remote 3 times).
2. Press the {2} button on the remote 1 time, to go to SRV-TOOL.
3. Press the {OK} button. A blue grid will appear with the following information.
TD2Mictocode: 81c00011
Flash ROM: 1-227E
PTCT :00.00.00.00.00
4. Cursor down to the PTCT :00.00.00.00.00 line and then cursor over to the right to highlight the empty box.
5. Press and hold the {MUTE} button on the remote for 3 seconds.
The TIME / COUNT info will be displayed in Hours and Minutes of Operation.
6. To exit, press and hold the {POWER} button on the TV for 2 seconds.
The display will re-start by itself.

<<<< WARNING - WARNING - WARNING >>>>
The {VOL+} and {VOL -} buttons are used to change
values in the Service Menu. Make sure not to touch
those buttons anytime while checking the hours used.

I wish Panny would have also provided a 3rd option called "Owners" mode so if someone fooled with the tvs own settings they would be reset back to your own settings every 4 to 6 minutes. Panny are you listening.
