Lets hope they perform as well as they say they will..Hooking them up to a Denon 791.

Any reviews on this setup?

Would any of you be so kind to take height measurements of your PA-6S and PA-8S speakers?

I'm considering these for rear/sides on a 5.1 system and the height is a problem for my left rear. The factory specs show the 6S taller than the 8S and I find that odd. I need to find some true numbers.

Thanks!

All I can comment on is the Pa-8's I have 6 of them in a surround system. Sound is great, I have them set at 60HZ crosssover with 2 subs.

I was planning on getting a new receiver but decided to upgrade my speakers instead. I previously had the Acoustech PL-76 system which sounded great....but I began to notice that after watching movies and listening to music for more than 2 hours at a time I would feel fatigued. I do kind of like the brightness of the horns but my ears didn't.

So I started looking around the forums and found the PA-8F thread, short story short I sold my PL-76 and now a proud owner of the PA-8F system. Received them last night and I must say wow, this system has a little more umph to it and the High's are perfect. I now realize that the highs from the horns where a bit to bright paired up with my Yamaha receiver, but these speakers are perfect.

Glad your happy and I agree, speaker vs. price wise you can't go wrong, The only thing is I like the brightness of the Acoustech for the center channel, which I have. What center channel are you using? All PA's ?

I'm using the PA-8C and vocals are excellent, but compared to the PL center I think it's a touch lower in terms of clarity but it's still great don't get me wrong, I'm very satisfied with all the PA-8 speakers

Actually there is one thing that I don't like as much, and that's the sub. The sub does a great job filling the room with bass at higher listening levels but at regular TV listening it sounds almost too light, the sub prior had more of nice clean thump at TV listening levels. Not sure if maybe it's because it's not quite broken in, but I'll give it some time it's only really been a week.

Which sub is it, the PA-120? Subs can be a funny thing, mainly in placement. Have you looked in the forums about the sub crawl.

Would really like to see the innards of one of the PA's.. see the cabinet construction, bracing, crossover, driver baskets & magnets.

They look impressive from the outside though...

Yeah it's the PA-120, no I haven't checked out the sub crawl. Strange thing is it's in the same position as my previous subs so I don't it's the position but I don't know maybe different subs react differently.

I used to think a subs a sub now that I have 2 it's night and day. I would swear my speakers are putting out the bass, but I know there not. And I'm running 6 towers.
Well I didn't do the sub crawl method, but I ended up turning the forward sub to face the left side wall and now it's much much better. The sub verbrates throughout the livingroom, before it would feel like the bass was flowing over to the next room.

I have the PA-8S and using a measuring tape the height is 11 3/4 inches.

I looked at the answer I gave the last gentlemen and must have been really intoxicated,The PA-8s's are at least 3 in a half feet high. (There tower speakers)

Just a quick question. I have read all of the comments and reviews on the PA-8F and PA-8C and am still confused. Would you guys that have them buy them again? Are they just good because they are fairly inexpensive for what you get or are the impressive? I don't want to spend any more money than I have to but I don't want to be disappointed either. Thanks.

Does anyone have any experience with the Polk Audio Monitor 60's? Looking to pickup the Pols or the PA-6F's. Just looking to get some feedback. Pairing them with a Yamaha rx667. Thanks!

Hey Zippo, how've ya been? I've been awol from this board for a while and decided to check in. - Yeah, I'm still lovin my PA-8F's. They still sound awesome. My friend recently purchased some Mirage tower speakers. He paid over $1,000 for them. Anyway, he heard my PA-8F's and he said he thinks the PA-8F's sound better than his mirage towers. Hahaha!
Been great Movie Guy. Pretty impressive that these speakers can match up with Mirage speakers. Really glad you all hooked me up with them. Finally got around to getting a couple of budget powered subs, couldn't be more pleased for the money invested.
I've had these speakers for a few months now and they sound better now than they did when I first got them. For the price you can't go wrong.

Alright a new fan. I first bought 2 speakers, when they arrived and hooked, up bought 4 more, Then the girlfriend bought 2 more, the UPS guy thought we were nuts. (we were living in the same house Up/down)He said he was going to buy a couple (don't know if he did}. But if he didn't, it's his loss. Best money I spent on a speaker without ever hearing it.

Zippo, I couldn't agree with you more. It was the best money I've spent on a set of speakers that I wasn't able to test/hear prior to buying them. I went strictly on a few reviews. I'm glad I did!

I have a pair of old pioneer 3ways that sound pretty good. I'm thinking about upgrading to the 8f's. would this be a good thing to do. my system..2 pioneer 3ways 12"woofer 10"Mid 1" tweeter for the fronts....premier acustic pa-4.4c for the center and Klipsch 350 sub. The pioneers are about 15 yrs old.

Hey guys,

NewB here...anyone from Canada on this thread? I am considering the Premier acoustic system for my future HT in the basement, would just like to know how much you paid for freights and shipping etc. Any comments appreciated.

Thanks guys
@aragon - When I purchased my 6F system...no freight charges.
Hey guys I am going to be piecing this system together I am going to be ordering the PA-8C tomorrow. I will be upgrading from my The Speaker Company TC2 center.
I got the pa8 center the other day and I am waiting on the pa8 towers to get here. The center sounds good but it lacks the bass that my The Speaker Company TC2 center had. I am hoping after it breaks in a little it will get deeper
post #359 of 463
Can one of you guys post pics of your current PA-8F setup? I am about to pull the trigger here and need reassurance!
I received my pa8 fronts today I will set them up and post pictures tomorrow
