I don't think you'll be disappointed in any of those choices you mentioned. I have the bic acoustech for the center and The PA-8f's for the surround. Now flip that coin.

If there is anyone in the Pittsburgh area looking at these speakers I have the PA8c and PA8F fronts that I need to sell. I bought them less than a year ago June 2011. I am selling them because they are too big for our new house that we just bought. If you are interested send me a message I am going to let them go for a very cheap price because there is no way I can make them work.

I'm not in PA, im in TX, but how much you asking for the PA8F Front speakers, I have the PA8C already.

Guess what boy and girls, All you nay sayers for these speakers. Guess what after 3 years you can kiss my butt. There still rocking like brand new. Even adyseree (didn't spell that correct) . Thinks these speakers as surrounds should be set at 40 Kz is that a good reference or what?

I thought I'd jump in and say I've also had these speakers for 3 years now and I still enjoy them. My only complaint is the sub PA120 lacks a bit in bass response but not bad. it could better. I found my room and the position of where the sub is located a downward firing sub sounds better. With a sub its all about placement.

Where did you guys find the pa-8s for $250??

Is know one buying these anymore or what? This thread seems to have died. As I am torn between this and the pic pl89 my self so any thoughts would be great.

I was torn between those two models when I was going for my purchase. I went with the Premier Acoustic because they were aesthetically more pleasing. They are really really awesome, and extremely high quality speakers. I bought the PA-6F fronts and the PA-8C center. These speakers hit, just having the 6 1/2's hit extremely well in stereo mode.

I'm a bass person though, so I will be grabbing the PA-8's soon and putting the 6F's in my living room. Here are some pictures for reference. Click the "Old home theater" album to see pics with the grills off.

Just wanted to bring this back to life, there has to be some people who are still buying them right?

i checked out the pics of these speakers and i love the cherry color on them. i've been looking at the bic acoustech pl89's for a couple of months now and i almost pulled the trigger for two pairs of PL89's. the only thing i really dont like about the bic acoustech line is that they don't offer the cherry color. if anybody here has heard the acoustech line, please let me know your thoughts about these two brands. should i go for the bic pl89's or go for the premier acoustic PA-8F?

bic acoustechs and premier acoustics line don't have really that much of a difference on their prices. they are budget speakers that competes with well established expensive brands such as polks and klipsch. either way, it's a win-win situation for me.

which speaker did you get? the bic pl89's or the PA-8F's?

I got 2 pairs of pl-89s with the pl-28 center. And I love them. They sound not bad when you first get them, but when they break in, its just amazing. I love them and have zero regrets. I hope that helps. I am also running it as a 5.0 with no sub, and sometimes with some movies, I swear there is a sub on its drops that low. So I can honestly say I would pull the trigger no problem. I got mine in march and they still keep sounding better and better. I swear the breakin never stops lol. As there is always improvment. When I think thats as good as they get, they sound even better. And they are very effictne. I put them up against the klipsch rf with the dual 8 inch woofers and these sound better. And I love klispch. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks metal guy. The new pl89's has gone their price up a little bit because of the new cross over upgrade. I really want the pl89's. I'm more of a horn loaded fan.
