I've seen this movie so many times and still find it funny. I even remember my dad renting on VHS when I was a kid. Buying this day 1

Awesome, can't wait!

"I said across her nose, not up it!"
"Sorry Sir, doing my best"
"Who Made that man a gunner?"
"I did Sir, he's my cousin"
"Who's he?"
"An ******* Sir"
"I know that, whats his name?"
"That is his name, *******, Major *******"
"And his cousin"
"He's an ******* too Sir, gunners mate first class Phillip *******"
"How many *******s we got on this ship any how?"

"I knew it, I am surrounded by *******s......Keep firing *******s!"

I love movies.

I love comedies.

I hated Spaceballs. One of the worst "comedies"...no worst movies...I've ever seen.
I think it may have been the only movie I walked out on in my life it was so bad.

The movie is good. Not Blazing Saddles good but good.

For me at least Blazing Saddles is LIGHT years ahead of SB...Blazing is one of Mel's best imo..followed by Young Frankenstein...then it trails off from there.

To me SB is one of Mel's sad attempts at staying in the public eye as the nations funny guy but sadly it wasn't the case for me at least.

For those who plan to spend $20-25 to get it, I hope you totally enjoy the show!

now that i've preordered i wonder if we will get any new bonus features

i'm betting on nothing more than a port of the existing bonus from the DVD and maybe a pop up trivia track

A number of unnecessary comments have been deleted.

Once you have posted a negative opinion , further like comments are not necessary.

Spaceballs it the only Mel Brooks movie I like. Don't really care for Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles or History Of the World.

Spaceballs is not perfect, but has enough skewering of sci-fi classics to make it a buy for me. "No, sir, I didn't see you playing with your dolls again, sir!" "I'm surrounded by a**holes!" The dancing alien with John Hurt was great. I also thought John Candy put in a great performance. "It's my industrial strength hair-dryer, and I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT!"

Has anyone received this yet? If so, how is it? Strange that there are no reviews for this !

I have Spaceballs at at the top of my Netflix queue, and they received 2 of my discs yesterday, but I wasn't one of the lucky guys to get first distribution. Yesterday in my queue, it was listed as "short wait" but this morning it is listed as "very long wait". I absolutely love the movie; maybe Netflix should have a special tag for it of "Ludicrous wait".

Unfortunately (though unsurprisingly), the cover art does not proudly state Spaceballs: The Blu-ray.

I feel the same way. In fact, it's one of those movies that I really wouldn't want to be friends with someone who didn't like it.

Got this one today. Was expecting a bit more grain for a 80's movie. Most shots look lightly smoothed over, but nothing too offensive. Slightly above average catalog title overall.

"when will then be now"..."soon!"

I'll definetly pick this up, but it may be a while, no time to watch it anyway.

The included flipper DVD is definitely used, came with lots of smudges and fingerprints on both sides. Guess they wanted to clear out some stock, haha.
I'm so glad it comes with a full screen standard def copy of the movie.

_____2000 DVD___________2005 DVD_________2009 Blu-ray____

The 2000 flipper DVD is included with the BD. The widescreen side is non-anamorphic letterbox, I cropped it to 1080 for easier comparing.

Got it and watching it tonite!

From those screen caps... I'm not seeing much difference between the 2005 DVD and the Blu-Ray!

While I would not say the BD is great, it's a huge difference. The DVD looks like it's out of focus in comparison
post #59 of 72
There is definitely a difference. The problem is, the master appears to just not be very good, even after the BD upgrade in resolution.
